How is postage charged to buyer, in item price, or separately?

Setting up a Buy It Now listing.  Is the postage charge added to the item price at checkout?  Or should the postage price be included in the item price?

You either add the postage  when you make the original listing in the ' Postage Set up' section on your listing, selecting Buyer pays.   If you are on Simple Delivery now,  the buyer will pay this amount to eBay who send you a label to print . You won't actually see any postage money.

If you offer what was once ' Free Postage' selecting Seller Pays, then incorporate the postage price you wish to charge into your starting price, also any packaging costs if you want to charge a little for this.

That will depend on what you are listing and if it is listed with Ebay Simple Delivery.

If that is the case, Ebay will set the postage price, they will collect the postage payment from the buyer when the buyer pays and then provide you with a label or QR code.

You choose, if you go for POST FREE, the price is incorporated in the selling price, otherwise postage quoted on listing is again up to you, it is either invoiced to buyer, or you can select buyer buys and pays for postage seperately.

I do not recommend selecting BUYER BUYS, if anything goes wrong you as seller end up paying for postage, and buyer gets the refund.

All part of the wonders of Simple postage which is far from simple and can leave sellers out of pocket.

Thank you.  My item is not eligible for Simple Delivery so I have to arrange my own carrier.  I've put an amount in the Buyer Pays box.  Is that sufficient for them to be billed separately for the item and postage?

If it is the speakers, it is showing as £15 for Parcelforce.

Have you checked the weight and size (including packaging)? - it's hard to judge but they may need a Parcelforce large parcel.

I know not everybody likes to do so, but I would offer collection in person as an option as well as postage.

Your buyer will be charged the item price plus the £15 postage you have on the listing.  If you receive an offer, that will exclude the postage which will be added to the offer value.
