Have Buyer Protection Fees been scrapped? (Please say YES)

After 4th Feb I began to see Buyer Protection Fees added to my listings even though they were not Electronics which I thought it was being rolled out on first. Sure enough my Sales had this fee added to the amount paid by Buyer. This weekend having listed some more items I noticed that BPF don’t seem to be added to the price that Buyers see. I even tested it by adding some things to my basket via another account and going to Checkout. No fees added!
No listings on either account seem to be showing BPF anymore. Have eBay actually listened to the uproar about BPF from everyone and scrapped it, or just delayed it? Or is it just typical eBay programming that didn’t work and has been withdrawn until it can be ‘updated’

I fear your last line may be the answer to your question.

No notification that BP is not going ahead,  but perhaps a little later than planned.

BPF is definitely being applied to listings in the electronic category.

BPF is definitely not going away.

Given eBay’s record on messing things up spectacularly, I suspect that too. It looks increasingly like they applied the BPF to categories other than Electronics for a few days but have now removed it (temporarily). My listings that had BPF applied were in the DVD and Video Games categories (on 2 different accounts) not Electronics. I had also bought a few items on which I’d PAID BPF so eBay should really refund me the extra amount I’ve paid on each - but will they? More chance of Donald Trump becoming King of Greenland I’d say…
