Fraudulent seller

Hello, I have purchased an item and paid for it , the seller contacts me to say he no longer had the items and said he’s already sold it, I ask to cancel my purchase so it refunds my money , he won’t do this so I’m in limbo, I’ve contacted the seller a few times and had replies that now say he has no money, how can I contact and speak with an eBay agent or do I just have to wait ,the item was purchased yesterday (11/aug/25)

You only have 30 days from estimated delivery date to open an official  'Item not received' case below --- follow the instructions carefully and escalate to eBay on day 4 for their assistance >

Re: Fraudulent seller

Thank you for your help, I have asked to cancel the purchase, it’s now pending cancellation, I have a long message stream and the seller has admitted he didn’t actually have the item to sell , is it still possible to speak with an eBay agent and not an automated / Ai response

kind regards

Re: Fraudulent seller

Silly of seller not to cancel but they seem not to understand eBay rules by selling an item and leaving it for sale on eBay , so may well not know how to,  or even,  cannot be bothered to,  cancel the item for you, which must be done from their end.

No point contacting eBay Customer Services,  as they will only repat and confirm the advice given here,  that is, you need to wait one day after the item's last estimated date for delivery and open a case for item not received.

You can leave appropriate negative feedback e.g.    ' Very disappointed seller did not honour this sale'.

Re: Fraudulent seller

Hello tressy yep excellent advice, I’m really annoyed by it to be honest, it’s £160 of my money that I can’t spend sadly until it’s all returned
