FALSE TRACKING NUMBERS FROM SELLERS

Following an alleged delivery the item concerned was flagged up as no received to ebay. I had since bought the same type of item from another ebay seller which arrived.  The ebay seller did not respond and never responded.

Ebay  said a refund would not be possible as the seller [NB from LEICESTER] had provided 'Tracking proof'.

Upon further investigation it was found the 'tracking number' provided by the seller [from LEICESTER] was a Fedex number. Fedex proof of delivery gave no address of delivery only a postcode that was a HOSPITAL's postcode.

It then transpired that the hospital [employee named] had signed for the item, yet this proved to be untrue even if the name was accurate.

The Fedex delivery had originated from 'Shipper: MAASTRICHT, LB, NL' [NETHERLANDS - not  LEICESTER].

the item was £14 and was health tablets.

EBAY are were content to refuse the claim of none-delivery just BECAUSE the seller provided a 'tracking number' ebay did not check the tracking number's validity!!!

Fdex were contacted and they confirmed neither the seller or item or the delivery address from buyers account corresponded with their tracking number.

IN OTHER WORDS THE SELLER USED A TRACKING NUMBER solely for the purpose of a FRAUDULENT activity.

even when it was explained to ebay the seller still kept the money from the transaction ...ebay refunded the money!  it also appears that for the same product this same seller is one and the same as two [at least] other names for sellers of the same product.

This took a lot of time researching............... these sellers rely and laugh at buyers and ebay because THEY know ebay as easily misled by simple means!

Re: FALSE TRACKING NUMBERS FROM SELLERS

I would approach eBay Customer Services with this information and evidence of a false tracking number.  I strongly recommend contacting CS first thing in the morning when the lines first open at 9 a.m. on weekends and 8 a.m. on weekdays,  as there's more chance of Dublin answering,  only speak to them.  It's a call back option so you'll hear if it's the dulcet tones of the Emerald Isles!

This is the easiest and quickest way to contact eBay Customer Services, for a Call Back option.

Lines open 8 a.m. - 10 p.m. on weekdays

9 a.m. - 6 p.m. on weekends.

Automated agents will be available on chat outside of the above hours.

As said,  I recommend contacting CS first thing in the morning as there's more chance of Dublin answering.
