Ebay dont seem to be vetting sellers anymore

I've noticed over the last 12 to 18 months that I've had more issues with sellers than in the previous 10 + years. Several items have not arrived or have been very different to the descriptions posted. Feeble excuses are offered if any at all. I have felt in the past that Sellers appeared to be vetted and controlled/Managed well by Ebay but not recently. I'm wondering if there has been any changes in Management/ownership of ebay or changes in their vetting process or policies on controlling Sellers. what ever it is the level of service and as such confidence in Ebay  is falling rapidly

Ebay has never vetted sellers other than by taking action if they get lots of cases or reports against them.

That action can be years after selling started.

Ebay largely relies on the money back guarantee to protect buyers against bad sellers.
