Dishonest Seller

Purchased an item from this seller five days ago, 26 September.  Looking at the listing today, 2 October, ebay states that the item should be with me by the 3rd October, which is a 48 hour delivery time!

However,  I spotted a fault in one of the photos and immediately, that same day, asked the seller to cancel the transaction.  The cancellation was shown as pending, until today, which makes five days in "pending!"  The item was never sent out, although the seller cunningly created a tracking number.    I raised an "item not received" case with ebay.  Ebay's response was that I should wait until 6th October, adding a further five days delivery time!

I contacted the seller and aked for refund.  Seller stated that they would refund today. They have not, and then accused me of being rude, a familiar tactic - blame the victim.    Language usage is unfamiliar to me "omg"  No idea what they mean by this.

So, Ebay stated that the item would be with me in 48 hours, but have extended the delivery time to 11 days.  This is absurd.  Ebay definitely does not support us, and in this case, has created further obstacles.  Ebay's policy toward its members is highly unfavorable on the Trustpilot website.  So, be very careful....

You can ask a seller to cancel,  but they do not have to accept that request.  Most sellers will but they are not obliged to.

You cannot open a case for item not received until one day after that item's last estimated date for delivery.

You say you noticed a fault of one of the photos on the item,  when it's received if it's not as described your money is safe,  open a case for item not as described, citing item Does Not Match Item or Photos.

I am fully aware of ebay policies.  The issue here is that upon further inspection, the  item was found to have faults, and it was on this basis that I requested the cancellation.   What is of particular interest is the response from the seller who stated that he expected ebay to reimburse me.  In other words, the seller has abdicated all responsibility and appears to have listed it expecting ebay's "Buyer Protection" policy to cover him.  Ebay is simply complicating mattersby adding a further layer of time for the item to "miraculously" appear.  Whereas, the wig was to have been delivered in 48 hours from time of purchase, ebay has extended that time to 10 days because ebay has not correctly viewed and interpreted what this seller is doing.  It is possible that given the seller's attitude to the ebay Buyers' Protection policies, he intends to keep the funds and have ebay refund me.   He is simply playing the system, and if my information is corect, he will not succeed.
