Concerning Sale

I’ve had a high value item up for sale for a while, today it was bought on buy it now.  However, the buyer only opened an eBay account today.  They’ve paid outright, without any conversation, and although I’ve tried to message them, they’ve not replied at all.  I’m really concerned that I’m about to get scammed and not sure how to proceed.  I appreciate it could all be completely genuine but it’s just a few too many red flags - and I don’t want to end up accused of something, out of pocket and without my item.  Any guidance or thoughts appreciated.

Concerning Sale

All your items are high value so there is a risk attached to all. Even well established buyers have known to scam open a not as described case and received full refunds on returning a different item.  It's the risk you take when selling .

eBay spend millions on advertising for new members to join which they do daily.  Your buyer may have seen your item and opened an account purely to buy it.  Being new they may not know how to reply to a message it's not an easy process.

You can cancel if you wish, but I'd imagine you'd receive bad feedback.  It's your choice.
