Can a buyer ask for more postage after the item is paid for because he entered the wrong postage to start with. It was a Buy it now best offer. Under ten pounds.
This buyer had put down a the postage for letter post but now says it needs small parcel after I’ve paid for it.
Its not a fortune, but the principle. I sell on eBay and would stand the extra my self. He’s quite rude calling my questions B..l Sh.. and telling me to call eBay if I’m not happy.
Im happy now for him to cancel but he’s telling me to cancel it. He seems to be causing trouble for nothing really.
Thanks.

Are you the buyer or the seller here?
Have you got buyer and seller mixed up?

You've mixed up buyer and seller in your post, making it hard to read, but I believe you are the buyer, is that correct?
The Seller cannot ask for more postage, but to be fair Simple Delivery is not an easy footprint to follow, easy to make a mistake with postage. That aside, as said, once a seller has shown a postage cost, they cannot ask for this to be increased.
Only a seller can cancel an order, so it's up to them now, if they wish to proceed with the request, to cancel.

I’m the buyer. Thanks. It wasn’t simple delivery either but by specified Royal Mail.

The seller is in the wrong here and should have listed it with correct postage.
They want you to ask to cancel so they don't get a defect on their account which they could do if they use some of the reasons available for cancelling a sale.
Personally, to draw a line under this and end having to communicate any more with this rude person, I would send a very brief but polite message asking them to cancel your purchase.

Thanks. I have asked him to cancel. But he has just sent a very rude reply saying he’s done all he can for me but has relisted this bangle with a higher postage and not refunded me.
He said I’ll have to contact eBay for a refund. I can’t believe how wrong this is, it’s such a piffling amount as well. So as you say he won’t get a defect.

One day after the latest estimated delivery date, start a case with Ebay saying you have not received your item.
I don't often tell other members to leave negative feedback but it seems to be well deserved in this case.
Keep it factual and brief. As long as it is your opinion, based on your experience, the seller should not be able to get it removed.
