Buyer Dispute

Hi there I have sold a hat to a buyer for about £128 I shipped the hat it arrived to pick up location it was collected buyer is happy and texts me says he likes it. 10 days later marks the order as “the buyer didn’t recognise this transaction” eBay notified me 6 days after he opened dispute I didn’t answer but eBay said I qualify for seller protection none of this was in my hands and I already withdrawed money am I safe? Maybe the buyer is lying or he can deal with his bank but I shouldn’t be supposed to pay him if he collected it and is probably lying

As long as you have online tracking to the address given by the buyer at checkout, you will qualify for ebay seller protection.

Have you read the guidance on 'payment disputes'?

No, you're not. As has been said, you MUST read eBay's guidance on payment disputes. Having withdrawn the money is no protection.

Claiming not to have recognised a payment is just one of the many ways in which buyers can defraud sellers on eBay. Ignoring the claim and doing nothing simply means that eBay will take payment from your bank account to refund the buyer's credit card company - and charge you a fee for administering the refund.

You may hopefully have the delivery proofs to qualify for eBay seller protction, but only if you get yout had out of the sand and respond to the case.
