I live in the UK and want to buy watch from Japan ($146 US dollars = £114 approx.) free shipping. My understanding is that I will have to pay 20% VAT but NO customs and excise Tax. Please could someone confirm if this is correct ?

What happens if it develops a fault while under guarantee will I have to pay for posting it back assuming the sellers asks me to ?

Customs fees are for items £135 and over.

Guarantees are not enforceable on ebay, it will be between you and seller.
