Hello all,
Just a private seller downsizing.
I have yet to experience this new SIMPLE Postage system which Ebay have concocted but from what I've read, its complicated, difficult to use and has so many potential pitfalls, it is extremely alarming. It smacks of another Ebay giganticus cockupicus.
Remember when Ebay forced Managed Payments on us a couple of years back. Things went horribly wrong and eventually Ebay crashed Europe-wide.
Remember the Kerching when an item sold? Such a distinctive email notification warranting immediate attention.
Then they changed it to Your item has sold....
Then they changed it to Youve made the sale for....
Then they changed it to The payment for. ..... which looked like spam
Then they changed it back very quickly to Youve made the sale for...
WHY?
My sales have dropped to virtually nothing since Ebay started charging the buyer for Buyer Protection, something the Buyer already had, "You'll get your item or your money back"
Amazingly I have just sold an item, I bubblewrap it, pop a thank you note inside, box and seal it, and Get Postage Label through Ebay according to the Listing and final weight and print off a label. Stick that on the box and away we go. Ebay even automatically fills in the tracking details and sends the purchaser an email Done in five minutes. Perfect.
WHAT COULD BE SIMPLER AND WHY CHANGE IT?
This is one of multiple issues I am having with Ebay.
All the junk emails I am receiving despite everything being switched off, its bordering on harassment.
Most of my Saved Searches have 2 ,3 or 4 specific words and possibly a reference number yet I am being bombarded with emails, hundreds of them, telling me I have new hits on my saved searches yet the vast majority have absolutely no connection whatsoever with my searches. I have had to turn Email alerts off.
Could sit here all night BUT
Ask me what Ebay could do to improve things??? Get rid of the "management" who seem to be obsessed with constantly trying to change things just for the sheer hell of it .......
For a national and international company, it beggars belief.
I think its time to hang the Ebay coat up after 22 years.
