Age verification needs a massive overhaul

This age verification is ridiculous, they're restricting item that don't need it a betterless bladeless jigsaw - what kid is going out to a mugging with a body only jigsaw *bleep*, or a butter knife as I've seen someone else report this really needs a human to look over it it's crazy.

And then the need foemr a credit card is again crazy most people won't have one I'm certainly not going to get one just to use ebay buyers and sellers are going to be loosing out with this and ebay appears to be too dumb to see this, and during the process it doesn't even tell you that a debit card isn't accepted you press continue and nothing happens, nothing goes red or greys out to say look this is what's wrong, I've had an ebay account for over 18 years so surely that alo e tells them I'm over 18? There's plenty of other ways to r verify your age and they picked the worst one.

Age verification is the law, not just on ebay.

There are various ways to prove age, but ebay choose credit card only.

By selecting credit cards, ebay are relying on the Credit Card company having satisfied themselves on age.

There may be other ways, but ebay never sees its members, so relying on even a passport on line would not be conclusivie.

There's enty if way especially now the 18 age ban has come into force for the Internet variety if sites. 

But that aside they need to have a better understanding in what needs age verification.

Yes I get that, but some of the stuff ebays included in its restrictions is lazy on their part, or some level of incompetence somewhere in the management chain.
