Ok so I sold 6 desktop pc's. Due to weight I shipped in 2 seperate parcels (seperatre tracking) and insured for the approapiate value.
Buyer missed the first delivery. When the redelivery happened only 1 parcel got delivered. After nearly 2 weeks of chasing UPS now have openened an investigation and assuming the 1 is lost.
How will this work with ebay return if:
1. The buyer wants to return the 3. Who pays return postage
2. The buyer wants to keep 3 (50% refund?)
3. I partial refund then the items turn up and the buyer wants them?
Will the ebay ad be enough to prove value and I dont have invoices etc (Im not a business).
Just not sure how this will proceed through ebays process? Hows best to proceed with the buyer, will the investigation have to conclude. I only added tracking for the 1 parcel that was delivered, should I add the second on now?

The buyer needs to open a return using the reason 'items missing'.
If they decide to return the 3 computers they did receive, you will have to pay postage.
If they decide to keep the 3, you can offer them a 50% refund. So, they keep what they received and you give them back half of their money.
If the items then turn up (with you or the buyer), you would have to ask them to repay you. This cannot be done through Ebay.
If you have to claim for the lost 3 computers from UPS, they will ask for proof of value. They may accept the Ebay sales details but, equally, they may ask you for details of the purchase - 6 computers is a lot to sell all at once for a private seller.

My work was having a clearout of old IT equipment so I purchased them from there. There won't be any invoices and besides wouldnt that be proving the value I bought them at rather than sold them at? So annoying because they missed the first attempt of delivery.

Probably your best bet is to check the Ts & Cs on the UPS website and, if they have declared the second parcel lost, to actually start your claim.

Terms ask for serial numbers if value is over £500. I insured up to £500. I'm sure they will find a way to get out of it.
