Evening, Sorry for this long post, just tryin' to get all the info and details down in one go! So I thought the Sell Internationally on my listing form was unchecked - I seem to have to keep revising listings to uncheck this. However, one got through and I sold a vintage women's suit purchased on Buy It Now to what appears to be an Australian buyer. (Obviously on my seller's account) I thought it odd that my Sold Confirmation email from eBay said that this item is a Global Shipping Programme Order. The buyer's registered address on eBay and Paypal are both the same and in the UK. Under the buyer's eBay account (public view) it states buyer registered in Australia. Anyway, when I went to package the garments, to my horror I noticed a moth hole bang on the front of the skirt that hadn't been there prior to photographing and listing it (damn blasted knatz!). So I duly emailed the buyer with profound apologies and informed her of the newly found defected garment, with detailed photos and advising her to check against the original listing's photos. I asked if she'd like either a part refund or full refund. With no reply, I checked what contact details were on the order and there was an Australian mobile, so I sent a text. I got a reply via eBay messages, apparently the buyer hadn't received my messages. Anyway, after sending the initial message again she stated that she didn't care about moth holes, but to just send the item and send her an invoice for the extra postage. Well, I hadn't planned on sending abroad but now this has happened I shall honour the sale, however, there are some red flags. Surely, anyone receiving such an email telling them the item they purchased has developed a fault would want to perhaps get a part refund for the defect? This buyer is very pithy in her responses and seems impatient, and appears to not want to engage in a more detailed/thorough conversation about what I consider a bad unmissable fault. (I make no real judgements here, she may well not be that concerned and just want to receive it very quickly) The biggist issue I have is that, as mentioned, the address listed on Ebay and Paypal is a UK one but the buyer has requested I send to Australia. Here's the rub, eBay state to post to the UK address and states below this address under 'Buyer's Address' (which you have to click on to show) shows the Australian address, which eBay have stated 'Do not post to this address' in red?! I am now confused as on the one hand eBay state this is a Global Shipping Order with: Post To This Address: a UK address but also states to not post to the buyer's address, which is in OZ and which is the international address that eBay has recognised hence the Global Shipping Order etc. Obviously, posting anywhere without confirmation of delivery would leave me open to an INR. I was planning on sending via Royal Mail anyway. I have asked the buyer to add the Australian address to eBay and Paypal, but I suspect this is being avoided as surely it would've been added anyway to avoid such problems? And as I said it's hard to engage in a conversation with the short replies I receive plus time differences. Also to note, Paypal have not applied a currency conversion/international fee but then the registered address is in the UK. I'm worried that if I send it, and 'it gets lost' I may lose the garment (well, a half decent garment), the price and the shipping, which for a 1kg parcel is not cheap. Many thanks in advance for any advice. PocketV
