Trying to buy mobile phone from NZ off Ebayuk. On NZ government what’s my duty estimator it says there is no duty to pay as item is under $1000. When I go to checkout it wants to add £78.58!! Rang NZ customs and they seem to think its something eBay would set up with NZ IRD due to how much they might export to NZ. Does anybody know how a way around this issue. Thanks

There's no way to avoid this it's aplied by New Zealand,Goods and Services Tax collected by the selling platform for goods upto $1000
