Hi all I sold an item on ebay   packed it shipped it by myhermes  I paid extra to insure the item . As it was over the £50 .  So I get a message off the buyer the item has been damaged  sent me photos of the item and the damaged box . Now I emailed myhermes and they said that I can claim for the amout it SOLD FOR NOT THE INSURED   so I pay the buyer back and i get the busted item back to me which is no good  how is that fair or even legal as i paid insurance on £190 . Covering the item price sold twice  so I get half the buyer gets his half .   Which is what he paid for te item so as what it went for . Mind you I would have said the real value was more as the item is over 60years old .  So I'm out.of pocket and left with pile of junk no value at all now .  ... View more

Hi all how do I contact ebay directly about fraudulent adverts as there is no help offered anywhere on this subject...  I have foolishly purchased something from china and when arrived the item looks nothing like it did in the many pictures or how described in listing to the point I honestly thought they had sent wrong item. I have been unable to speak to anyone at ebay about a return. The site sends me round in an endless loop, and I cannot get my issue addressed. I have already contacted the seller, to no avail. I need to speak to a person at eBay. I have rung the customer services number, and am told to go on the website, which sends me round in circles and offers no further help. I posted an antique pen first class but it didn't turn up so authorised a refund.  After a week or so the buyer informed me that it was delivered but with an 1.50 excess payment charge, which doesn't make sense as it was within the weight and size restrictions.  How should the buyer re-authorise the payment, bearing in mind the excess charges? ... You haven't enhanced my experience, you haven't made it easier to sell, you have tried to extract more money for yourselves you money grabbing toads. If you wanted to make things easier you would have added the new payment system to the ALREADY established methods. All you have done is removed MY choice to carry on using PayPal.
