HI ALL. SINCE I CHANGED OVER TO PAYING EBAY BY DEBIT CARD AND NOT PAYPAL, I HAVE EXPERIENCED SERIOUS SECURITY PROBLEMS. ON TWO OCCASIONS WHEN LOOKING TO BUY AN ITEM, I FINALLY FOUND THE ONE I WANTED.  HOWEVER, AFTER PURCHASSING THE ITEM, I THEN LOOKED IN MY PURCHASE HISTORY ONLY TO FIND THAT OTHER SIMILAR ITEMS HAD BEEN PURCHASED AS WELL. THE OTHER UNWANTED ITEM WAS ONES I HAD LOOKED AT EARLIER. THIS HAPPENED ON TWO SEPERATE OCCASION WITH TWO ENTIRELY DEFFERENT ITEMS. I HAD TO CONTACT THE SELLER TO CANCEL THE ITEMS THAT I DID NOT WANT AND DID I NOT PURCHASE. THEN ONE HAD SUPPOSEDLY BEEN POSTED. THAT MEANS I NOW HAVE TO WAIT FOR THE SELLER TO TRY TO CANCEL THE DELIVERY AND IF HE CAN NOT, THEM I AM GOING TO HAVE TO PAY TO RETURN THIS VERY LARGE ITEM. AT GREAT COST. THIS IS BEFORE I CAN GET ANY REFUND FOR AN ITEM I DID NOT PURCHASE. PLEASE, HAS ANYONE ELSE EVER HAD THIS HAPPEN TO THEM. I HAVE NOW RETURNED TO PAYING BY PAYPAL. NEVER HAD PROBLEMS WITH PAYPAL PS. I recently bought a twist and shape exerciser, collected in person and paid cash, the seller cancelled the order as it says it's unpaid in my ebay..Ebay sent me a mail saying there will be some buying restrictions on my account and was remineded about the none payment policy...The seller has cancelled the order so they don't have to pay fees, is my guess. Now I'm concerned there will be a strike on my account as a none payer..Ebay didn't even bother to ask me my side of the story and just sent me the none paying email laying down the law...unreal.. ... Does anyone else have trouble getting feedback from sellers? I find that  most sellers need to be asked for feedback to me even when I politely remind them. I even got a response from one seller recently saying he does not leave feedback for buyers, but as I reminded him if he had no buyers he would not have any business on Ebay he still refused to give me feedback! ... 1 of the biggest problems with ebay in my view is you end up listing bigger priced items numerous times because of either getting let down by the alleged buyer, or, as in this case, an ebay 'member' attempts to lure you in to a trap to send the item when funds have been sent (as proven by a spurious email NOT actually from PayPal). I didn't fall for it, but some people will. I cant communicate with ebay this most frustrating situation for the account to be closed down. So I will put it here for what good it does...there are too many theives on ebay these days, and I am finally looking at alternatives. I shrowded the address of the guy, just in case he is unaware or an innocent in this.     they messaged me in ebay and sent me their email address (seemingly getting around ebay protection) which I responded to. They agreed a price with little bartering and said they would send me the money and asking my item to be sent promptly once email of funds received is seen.  Clearly the email was not actually from PayPal at all. mail.com is a email account service just like gmail.com is. Sure enough on checking my PayPal account there was nothing received.   Question is, this guy has the intent on stealing goods without paying through deception. That is a crime in itself.
