A buyer has deliberately damaged the item for refund gggrrrr!

Any advice what to or where I stand. My instinct was telling me the buyer was dodgy when they wanted the postage reducing and were looking forward to receiving the item as long as it was how I described. Why did I send it!!!!
Now they are saying the coat I sold them is damaged. They have deliberately slit through to the filling on the inside of 1 arm (who takes a photo inside a coat arm so can’t disprove it) as well as unpicking some of the quilting on the coat. Other stuff they have done too but I would be writing an essay! I know they have done this to get a full refund as I stated no returns.
I’ve reported the buyer to eBay as a scammer but looks like it will go in their favour. Customer service totally useless ☹️

Start protecting sellers then instead of every complaint ending in favour of the buyer if it wasnt for sellers ebay would not exist
Yet you continue to raise fees 12.9% ridiculous !!!!!

Re: A buyer has deliberately damaged the item for refund gggrrrr!

For example....

you listing says you do not accept return...but buyer want to retunr it...

so he damaged make a picture and claim that it was damagaed during transportation...voila he can return it now...

next example ...he damaged the way that doesn't effect the functionality of the item and he gets refund because seller is scared to receive a neg feedback...

next example....he has a phone with broken screen he gets the new phone and claims that it was received damaged and retunr his phone....

Do you want more examples?

Re: A buyer has deliberately damaged the item for refund gggrrrr!

hELLO

as sellers you will never win

my thoughts are

YOU ARE GOING TO GET SCAMMED

if your selling often you will

calling it a scam is making the buyer look smart its just so childdish Dumb crime

they got your coat messed with it and requsted refund

Nice one damaging inside the sleeve tho BUGGERS

For all the mistakes i make on ebay when i send something its as in the condition it was in when the pictures were taken

i take take pictures Forensically

Its your only defence

The other one that i think i have been victim off

iscustomer  having a broken item buying a new old same one and returning your broken one

Only god will get the chance to judge them

but ebay should be tracking and little flags should be popping up on bad buyers?

Anyway good luck

3 strikes your oot but that revenue loss so Emm sorry

Re: A buyer has deliberately damaged the item for refund gggrrrr!

Having similar issues with a buyer of a classic car part that was purchased 12 weeks ago £225 & 21.60 postage costs . The buyer has not sent the item back yet even though i offered to accept a return well after ebays deadline expired as long as it was returned in exactly the same condition as it was sent of course .

The buyer has now admitted he has pulled it apart and has tried to make it fit the incorrect vehicle and is now sending messages through ebay requesting my phone number so he can no doubt be less than polite .

As many have said if they want it sent by the cheapest courier & refuse royal mail 48 tracked don't sell it to them & always take a photograph of the item just before you package it and package well enough that even a dimwitt could get it to it's destination without breaking it .

Genuine buyers want the item arriving undamaged so why cry over 80p more postage .

Follow your instinct next time , in my case this buyer when asked if he would be collecting as recommended or would he like it to be posted replied with one word only POST . My instinct said right then that the buyer was going to be trouble & here i am 12 weeks from date of sale  still being harassed .

Re: A buyer has deliberately damaged the item for refund gggrrrr!

You should try reporting it to ebay anyway !! And he/she is not eligible for refund if part has been
Altered in any way and certainly not after 12 weeks

Re: A buyer has deliberately damaged the item for refund gggrrrr!

We all in life have to trust people and over the last 10 years I have become aware of a decline in trust where money is concerned. Our country and companies like E Bay have good systems but good systems are always vulnerable to abuse.  The quest for wealth disregarding consequences of your actions  have on others assumes our life here has no continuity disregarding the circumstantial evidence our life after this is overwhelming . Our religions have themselves become materialistic for their own financial advantage ignorant of their spiritual decline and its natural consequences. A man warned us of this some time ago . A man named PLATO.
