May ye're cats nivver disgrace the carpet neither;

May ye're Da and Mam allus lend ye a fiver.

When cauld winds blaa aroond and aboot,

I wish ye thick waals tae keep 'em oot.

May ye're ghillie sandals nivver rub,

And forgi'e me, cos I've just got hame frae the pub.  **hic**

Having re-read other threads perhaps I should be at pains to point out that I am not taking the wee, but genuinely love these folk poems of blessings.  However they are not always easy to understand by us sassenachs.  My own was intended as an affectionate tribute, in the style of McGonagall if not Robbie Burns.  I have, indeed, just got in from a rip-roaring night at the Club, and would be horrified if I found anyone took my doggerel as anything other than light-hearted tribute hoping to raise a smile.
