Odd New Year Event

A friend of mine is a professional entertainer, and had a booking on New Years Eve at a sheltered housing complex

He started at 7.30pm and all seemed to go well.  A good turnout and everybody enjoying themselves.

But, by 11pm, nearly all had gone home to bed, and he was paid and asked to finish at about 11.20

He has never come across that before.

Goodness me! 

A friend of mine was a professional DJ at a club and was asked to fill in at short notice at another club for New Year.  He's used to the dance floor heaving until 2am, but at this one, the manager came out at 12.15 and told him to stop the music and put the house lights up as they'd had their 12 o'clock celebrations!  Cue a lot of very disgruntled punters.
