Here on the East Coast (Brid) it's very windy but has stopped raining for now. Seen the disruption down South on the news, and 10,000 homes without power; anyone got snow? If so, please send it this way.

Just driven back from The South Bank (there are no trains today - it's much easier for us to go up by train) & the wind & rain are really whipping up again

I'm in East Lothian for a few days. It was sunny and calm at home in Kent this morning. Sunny on the flight and sunny today in Edinburgh. Now it's raining and very windy with the promise of wet and wind tomorrow too.

Horrendous here in SW Scotland overnight with even worse to come through the day. Probably the worst yet. There's been a few loud bangs out there overnight but it's too dark to see properly yet. The power's more off than on. Don't like this at all 😞

 Batten down the hatches & don't go out unless you really have to 😞

It's blowing a right gale here at the moment.  I have to go out for a few bits this morning and then I have a hospital appointment at 3pm this afternoon.  Won't be staying out long on either occasion.

It was flooded down by the River right up To Fremlins walk shopping centre car park (which was flooded out apparently). Today its miserable very windy but surprisingly warm..

Rubbish here absolutely tipped it down earlier, really windy, and now the sun has come out but still blowing, water every blooming where, 7 degrees but feels colder than that.

More on the way next week apparantly,  I am glad I live on the side of a hill and miles away from a river.

It kept me awake for most of the night - pounding rain, buffeting against the windows and it's still blowing stuff horizontally although we do have clear skies now.

It is also unseasonably warm.

Not warm here & blowing a gale. We have dared to put the washing on the line but I think we will be rushing to get it in again shortly.

Cold and blowy here at the moment.  On the way back from the hospital it tried its best to rain.  I'm staying in for the rest of the day.

does that give you some kind of heating?

I know the situation is not easy for the power companies as it's not a straightforward case of just the lines coming down  - many are apparently buried under fallen trees, landslips, flooding etc and there are other difficulties accessing the damage.

But by now, I'd have thought that some kind of temporary measures would have been put in place to help those without electricity or other means of heating and cooking such as gas stoves or fireplaces.

It's bad enough down here, but up there you have snow and freezing conditions too.

 It does give a bit of heating, but the generator is on & off, so this old house just can't heat up.
