November the 5th and New Years Eve, - thats it. As a pet owner I find it a nightmare for the three months up to New years as fireworks are going off nearly every night I have been out at 6pm with the dogs and fireworks are going off and I have had to virtually carry one of them home no mean feet as he is a german shepeard cross collie.
Don't get me wrong I love watching them in organised shows.
But time and a place.

I hate them. Agree they should be banned from public sale and kept to organised displays only if they have to be. My furries get scared with all the noise and I always think how terrifying it must be to all the wild animals

Not a very scientific poll but it seems that the againsts outway the fors. Either that or we are all miserable beggers. Maybe we should all pray for rain,

THERE ARE WAY TOO MANY TERRIBLE ACCIDENTS NOW EVERY YEAR WITH SOME JUST NOT USING THEM SENSIBLY. tHEY SHOULD BE CONFINED TO ORGANIZED DISPLAYS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.
Even at displays more safety should be taken , how far away people are from them ect.

I like fireworks, but agree that they should only be sold for licensed display
However, even if that were the case, just as with drugs, firearms etc there would always be those who accessed them illegally
Maybe I'm being negative?
Although I really enjoy a firework display, our poor dog definitely didn't. The last November/December he lived through he didn't mind a jot, which confirmed what we'd long suspected - that he couldn't hear a thing any more He had however endured numerous nights of torment

Hi ALL,
do not forget people we are all paying for these damm things whether we like them or not.
the so called ozone layer experts.
they do nothing to stop all this rubbish going into the sky because of the revenue it creates,
yet they expect us to pay more on gas/electric prices calling it green energy.
never heard anything so blatantly dishonest.

Fireworks! Don't get me started.
Maybe if we called it what it really is, that is the unlawful detonation of an explosive device in a public place, which is covered by the various 'anti-terrorism laws' then people would have a clearer perspective.
Not only does it scare the **** out of most normal folk and all decent pets but it can, and does, result in people being admitted to A & E with horrific injuries and burns which will disfigure them for life.
But it makes someone big bucks and, in politics, money talks, so we have no chance.
Maybe if someone put a banger up David Cameron's a**e..............................................
