Re: : THE FHG SEWING THREAD :-D

Right then, one's in the oven and one's in the freezer.  I don't know what my cooker book's on about as it says for 12-16lb put it on the bottom rungs and there are instructions for up to 26lbs.  Mine will only go in on the oven floor and it's only 13lbs.  How would you get a 26lb one in?:O  I've only burnt myself twice so far, they still put up a struggle when they're dead!:^O  We'll heat it under clingfilm in the microwave Maggie, seems to work ok as it keeps the moisture in.

I've vacuumed right through and sorted all the stuff that I'd 'bunged' in the utility, so that only leaves the kitchen to do (and the worst job in the world.....the Aga!:O) tomorrow.:-D Not that anyone's coming here, not that I know of anyway, but it's nice to have it all done for Christmas and we might have unexpected visitors, you never know.

Re: : THE FHG SEWING THREAD :-D

Good afternoon 🙂

Been busy visiting relley's and dropping pressies orf ( yes I'm Mrs Christmas 😉 ) and just got back from a shopping session, it was heaving you couildn't move, we didn't want much just milk & veg, but it was pushing and shoving that added the time on 🙂

I think i'm just about done now, all ready for the big day 🙂

Re lived in houses,

I personally feel more at ease when i go into a lived in house,

one of my cousin's are *relaxed* and the other, his brother, you feel like you have to hold your breath in case the air move's out of place, needless to say i dont visit them that often 🙂

By the time the afternoon comes & feel tired so that's enough for me for now. The big pasty at the back is for tea.:-D

Re: : THE FHG SEWING THREAD :-D

i was just reading about someone who makes pasties with their christmas dinner leftovers

she dices  up some turkey, any left over veggies, some stuffing, all in a bowl, pours a little gravy over it, mixes, and uses as the filling for pasties

she freezes them

and says its lovely to come home on a cold february evening and have them, a nice reminder of christmas

i thought that was a good idea

😄 i hope you didnt try eating the chocolate off it, i find it sticks to the teeth 😉

That does sound a good idea Merlin, we dont have any left over as it gets dished up between all the dogs, they get better looked after than most 🙂

Re: : THE FHG SEWING THREAD :-D

Same here - bubble & squeak on boxing day should use up any left over veggies 🙂

Do like the sound of christmas dinner pasties though 🙂

Almost sorted here 🙂

The men went off on a ''secret'' shopping mission earlier - I was told to hide in the kitchen whilst they smuggled stuff upstairs!!

I have a christmas apron somewhere - need to hunt that out for christmas day.

Re: : THE FHG SEWING THREAD :-D

Apart from the bakery in the morning I'm done, after battling Tesco for fruit & veg plus a few bits of the usual shop needed....madness out there !!

Lovely looking pasties, used to love a proper decent Cornish one 🙂

Maggie your Oggies are teasing meeeee :^O I went in Iceland while I was out to get some pastry to make some  ... but they didn't have any left 😞 even had to go & put my mince back then, cos I know it wouldn't have fit in my freezer :^O
Oh well, I'll try them in the new year 🙂
