I hope they stayed close to those chickens!! Their feathers become waterlogged unlike ducks that have oil in them to keep them waterproof. We had a chicken drown in a water butt once.

chickens are stupid like that
chicks have drowned in an inch of water in a tipped pan

Morning all. Hope that everyone slept well. I did I must admit.
The weather here isn't good as it is cloudy and it looks like it will rain. I hope that it doesn't as I don't like rain much. Prefer to snow and ice though.
Have to be off as I want to be in the pool just after 8 and I'm not washed and dressed yet. Not a pretty sight.

Enjoy your swim Chris. I am setting off to the quilting workshop. Car loaded to the roof. Toughest bit is setting up the hall & clearing up at the end. Have a good day everyone.

I have just had a shower - first time I've been out of bed for 10 days, and boy did it feel good.
I have a thermos of home made chichen & vegetable soup here and a lovely freshly baked roll for my lunch. One of my "clients" made the soup and brought it for me - they're orthodox jews and the soup is lovely.

Afternoon all. I had a lovely swim this morning Maggie. The pool was quiet as there was only four of us in the pool.
Hope that you enjoyed the soup Stroppy. It sounds nice that does.
This time next week, Steph and Graham should be married and we should be at the reception with Grace creating havoc I've no doubt. Mind you, I think Grace will enjoy the day just as much as everyone else as she'll have plenty of people to make a fuss of her.

Grace will probably lift the spirists of everyone at the wedding under the circumstances, which will be a good thing.
I never knew that about chucks CG, you learn such a lot on here!! I couldn't believe chucks would eat a mouse though...saw that on TV but I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw it throw it down

I think that you're right there CB. She's got an important job for a little lady. I think that the jury's still out about her wearing her lovely dress. I think that as soon as she sees her mum all dressed and looking wonderful, she will have to do the same.

I bet Maggie is shattered CB. I think that it's been a long day for her. Must admit to being shattered and I don't really know what I've done. I have finished one headband and I've done another two. The knitting has been put to bed for tonight.

Morning all
Well I'm pretty tired after last night but was great fun, though a full english breakfast with a pint at 5.30am just as the day is breaking feels a little odd
Grabbed a few hours kip but think I will be early for my bed tonight.
No pics from Maggie yet then after her workshop ??
bet CK's having a wonderful time and weather has to be better than here as its blowing a hooley and persisting down , oh well better hoover before the family arrive for lunch.

It has won awards. It's gorgeous 'in the flesh' so to speak. Please note mine won't look anything like that! lol
15-09-2013 11:18 AM
You'll can do better than that Maggie, hers is all wonky!!
15-09-2013 11:21 AM

Afternoon all. Blimey Maggie, that pattern looks difficult. You can do it just as well if not better. I have every confidence in you.
It's windy here at the moment and it's been raining on and off all day. My summer stuff is all now put away only to be worn again next year. I hope that the weather is better than this on Saturday for the wedding. Fingers crossed and hope for the best.
