Thanks CG. The doc I saw this morning told me that I could take ibuprofen as well as paracetamol. If you shook me at the moment, I'd rattle.

ouchie Books
try having your pillow higher / bed head higher than normal, not by much but it may well help with the throbbing
and with he painkillers dont take them together take them at 2 or 3 hr intervals
so as one wears off the other kicks in

chewing gum can help ease ears pain a little
it stops you tensing up so much in the jaw area

Thanks Towery. I already do that with the painkillers but it is a good idea. The other ideas you have come with - I'll give them a try. Thanks again.

Poor you Chris...it's such a bleddy sore thing
13-09-2015 9:40 AM
It certainly is Merc. I did manage to sleep from around 10.30 last night up to around 3.40 when I took some more painkillers. I slept for a bit longer and then I was ready for climbing the wall again. It's not too bad at the moment even though I still can't hear anything in the said ear. I got up at around 6.40 and had my breakfast a little while later and got into bed again and I managed to sleep until 8.20 which can't be bad can it?
Thanks again for all of your concern. It is much appreciated.

Well, you've got to get your priorities right haven't you?
14-09-2015 1:19 PM
I've got see my GP next Monday at 9.50 about my poorly ear. The receptionist said that if it is still bad as the week goes on, ring up and they'll fit me in to see him sooner. I think that I will be doing that as I had another night of crawling up the wall with the pain last night. Oh stop moaning woman. There's plenty worse than me.
14-09-2015 6:46 PM
Everyone's allowed to moan now and again, and especially with something like earache, it's awful. It always seems worse when it's in the night too and everyone else is asleep and you feel so alone.
I feel for you Chris. 😞
I hope it starts to get better soon chuck.
14-09-2015 6:49 PM
Awww thanks CG. That's lovely of you.
15-09-2015 9:33 AM
Chris...you never moan...I feel so sad for you
15-09-2015 10:27 AM
Awww thanks Merc. Sending a jumbo hug back to ya.
15-09-2015 3:32 PM
How is it today Chris? Did you sleep any better?
15-09-2015 5:11 PM
Thanks for asking CG. It feels a bit better today thank you and yes I did sleep a bit better. At least I only woke up at 6 am as opposed to about 2 or 3 am.
I had a phone call from the doctor's about an hour ago and I have to go for a blood test tomorrow so that the doctor can have the results back for when I go on Monday. The tests just seem to be what I have had done before though so I don't think that it's in connection with my ear problem. Anyway, we shall see.

That's good news Chris. Let's hope it's better still tonight!
Best wishes. 😄

Thanks a lot CG. Just wish that I could hear properly in my left ear. That's driving me mad. It will be a blessing when all of this is over and done with.
Thanks again for your concern.
