Saturdays sumptuous supper

Homemade steak and kidney pie, the steak and kidney has been in the slow cooker since about 10, so when it is done I will put a pastry case on top of a pie dish and cook in the oven with mini roasties and lots of green vegetables.

Smells wonderful, my son is moaning about the smell he really doesn't like kidney, lucky he is going to work then and won't have it for tea.

Have just cooked a chicken in the slow cooker ....smells delicious and the dog is very excited ........

Dont usually cook whole chickens as we just tend to eat the white meat anyway so the dog is justified....we will all be very happy....

I'll be having Chinese spare ribs when they've had an hour and a half in the oven, and he will be having chicken STEW!

We are just having ham salad but I love the sound of what Ed's doing.  Yum yum.

I don't dislike salad but I never feel full, even though it has new potatoes and egg and cheese and meat etc.  It must be psychological!    As usual, wouldn't ya know, hubby loves it!!  Talk about Jack Spratt and his wife, they were like two peas in a pod compared to us!!

Sausage casserole - when it bothers to cook.  Haven't broken the sad news to OH that if he eats all the bread he can go out in the rain to get more!!!!!!!!! Have 2 crusts left is all.

Used to have a proper big pudding basin which I used to fill, cover, cook slowly with whatever was to hand and then stick a pie crust on top!.  Have replaced it 'cos it broke but it just doesn't cook the same(much thicker).

Consultant did take pity on me yesterday and sent me home in an ambulance with a supply of oral morphine. The deal was that I would take 1 dose when I got home, and that if I was still awake after an hour, I would take a second dose. Also if I woke in the wee small hours I would take another dose. It did take the second dose of morphine, but I did sleep through to 5am.
