Homemade steak and kidney pie, the steak and kidney has been in the slow cooker since about 10, so when it is done I will put a pastry case on top of a pie dish and cook in the oven with mini roasties and lots of green vegetables.

Smells wonderful, my son is moaning about the smell he really doesn't like kidney, lucky he is going to work then and won't have it for tea.

That's good that you're feeling better today Stroppy. I'm pleased for you. I've only ever had morphine when I've had the last two operations on my right ankle - once when they removed my ankle joint and then again when they had to take bone from my pelvis to graft into where my ankle was. Must admit, I needed it though. That's nothing to what you're going through though Stroppy.

I have all sorts of prescription pain killers, the trick is managing to find a compromise that makes the pain managable whilst still being compos mentis and able to function. Oral morphine makes me so sleepy and fuzzy that I only dare to take it if I am in bed as I can't even transfer safely from chair to bed when I have taken it.

I can believe it Stroppy. I've found that it knocked me for six when I took it and I just slept for hours.

it made me puke the best pain killer I had was a nerve blocker in the back of my knee, couldn't feel a thing in my hoof for two days!!!!

I have never had morphine but my daughter has after a major spinal op...said it made her nose itch something awful.

we had chips (again....sigh..) butternut squash and sweet potato roasted, and ham. then a yogurt with raisins.....

can't say I enjoyed it much....any pie left Ed?, cor I love a good pie...

Hello I am back, bloomin wind knocked over all sorts in the garden so have been trying to lie it all down, bins blew over, had to take dogs out as OH is fast asleep, he is having a few days off so had a few cans with his tea, haven't heard a peep out of him.

Steak and kidney pie was wonderful, boy did I enjoy that. I have enough left to freeze and make another one another day.

Hiya Chris, thanks for asking, the hoof's fine, they said the fracture hadn't mended yet (I think they mean the bit where they cut the bone out of as I didn't fracture it) so I had to have another plaster for 4wks...it's purple with loads of glitter on it.
