that once abounded in here ?
I remember once (not sure who it was for), a lady in here with a very ill little boy (I think) whose only real contact with the outside world was her computer as she had her hands full looking after him.
She was having computer problems and was not sure how much longer she could stay in contact with her friends in here and everyone chipped in what they could afford to buy her a new computer to allow her to continue contact and have the support all her friends in here wanted her to have.
Now in my opinion that was the real community spirit of here that once was and when FHG lived up to its name of Family ! Some lovely, warm, kind, caring and generous people that stepped up when one of the community family needed help.
Real FAMILY.

I remember all of those old posters.
However there were a group that weren't so pleasant, shall we say.
Anyone remember Ghostie?
One of the funniest ever threads was the Mooncup thread.
Also a very long thread about a poster on the Isle of Wight and a tent?
The FHG Pregnant Ladies thread?

learning2me, I heard references to the mooncup thread when I found here and how funny it was but never actually saw it or read any of it.
How things have changed here since then.
Was there not someone on here moved to the isle of wight and was a little apprehensive about doing so ?

I remember someone who had the word Sparkle in her user name and I think she was moving from Luton to the Isle of Wight.

books, I have no idea who it was and as far as remembering names no chance . In fact I carry my licence with me so I have my address on me and know where to come back to !
. That's how good my memory is.

What books ! were we chatting about something to do with memory ? .
Mine is that bad I went out of the house one morning to drive to work and forgot the car keys, my wallet which I must carry because my tacho card and cpc are in it and my phone.

I tend to have a good memory for some things and I completely forget other things.

Then there was the care worker who once had a memorable mishap involving an elderly gentleman and... errr... a "bottle" wasn't there?

Remember the quizzes? proper ones with prizes.( usually chocolate) and the treasure hunts? They were the reason a crowd of us moved from Round table to FHG.. the regulars from RT suggest we clogged up the new, empty board instead of Round table.. FHG was a temporary name.. after a while Ebay asked for suggestions to rename it.. but no body could come up with anything so it stayed as FHG

I remember back to round about 2001/2 - I think that's when I started coming on FHG for a bit of release from
the mares I was having in real life! People were fantastic back then, so supportive and lovely - and I always
tried to do the same for others. Not saying they aren't lovely now, but everything changed, the boards changed,
the trolls increased in number, some of the people whom I always believed to be truly lovely turned out not to
be quite as lovely as my trusting and never doubting self believed - so I went elsewhere and hardly post on here
now, hardly even look.
Some of the lovely people went onto Facebook, as did some of the not-so-lovlies, but it isn't the same either on
there or here. People are too quick to judge those who they do not know and I've never been one for all that. I
always assume people are lovely unless I find first hand otherwise.

I went on Facebook, but left again as it was taking up all my time. Now quite happy where I am and popping on here everyday to see whats going on. It is a shame as it was such a lot of fun.
