that once abounded in here ?
I remember once (not sure who it was for), a lady in here with a very ill little boy (I think) whose only real contact with the outside world was her computer as she had her hands full looking after him.
She was having computer problems and was not sure how much longer she could stay in contact with her friends in here and everyone chipped in what they could afford to buy her a new computer to allow her to continue contact and have the support all her friends in here wanted her to have.
Now in my opinion that was the real community spirit of here that once was and when FHG lived up to its name of Family ! Some lovely, warm, kind, caring and generous people that stepped up when one of the community family needed help.
Real FAMILY.

I don't think I recall that incident - sounds amusing; tell me more. Any pictures?

There was a photo posted at the time, I remember laughing at it! I do remember all the people who have been mentioned. I don't do Facebook so don't hear about them any more, seems a shame, some nice people moved away.

I remember one year, a calendar was produced, featuring pictures of posters
Proceeds from sales went to charity.
Not sure if it was here, or the Round Table.

Ah, that was 2nice2berude or very similar? I remember way back around 2002/3/4 she had 16,000 posts and I thought I was doing well with around 10,000. (this ID was created and only started posting when they altered the boards).

Browsing/ lurking.
Remember loon3y, oh-pee (have forgotten who her co-respondent was) and hamster.
Also Colin Brynteg, Mrs Ratty. I seem to remember that she kept spelling and grammar correct?
Sorry I don't contribute to discussions, don't type very fast, topics used to move so quickly and often I'm interested but can't add much.

I remember the old boards haven't been on here for years since they changed them around. There used to be someone on the round table who was always causing trouble can't remember who it was now. I always used to come on for advice

Wow - your post brought back some memories. i had forgotten all about the map. I can also remember all the "losing weight" threads and a lady called something like Marywestie who had a blog on her weight loss journey. Sara from Haworth Cat Rescue used to post a lot.

Hi Merc - Oh Lordy - I just thought that I shouldn't have posted the photo without checking first - and was trying to delete it and I don't know how Hope it doesn't cause any upset

Don't you be worrying...why would it...it was a happy time & raised lots of pennies

You are right it was a brilliant time and did raise a lot of money - but I just thought it wasn't right for me to put somebody else's photograph on line without knowing if they minded. FHG has certainly changed a lot over the years xx
