Deno (proper name De Novo) was adopted by FHG posters in 2005 when one of them, Shebalator, rescued him from slaughter.
Then - 700lbs underweight with a broken jaw and multiple other ills.
2008 - still struggling with sarcoids but finally fit enough to have a light rider up for the first time so he could
join his mates on a jaunt round the local lanes
2009 - due to sheb’s declining health, a new home was sought for Deno.
A very brave ebayer named upthecreekyetagain ( very apt name I think you will agree) agreed to take him on.
So, now Deno lives in Surrey with the Creeky family, plus 3 lovely mares. He has 5 acres of grass and orchards to roam in and is very happy.
His sarcoids still remain a problem, but a new vet is investigating them further to decide on the best course of palliative care.

For those of you who don't know the full situattion ownership of Deno was passed to Goth by Sheb - we are caring for him on a long-term "loan agreement".
Goth is acting as treasurer for Deno and has set up a separate bank account for that purpose. Monies donated will be paid into that account and Goth will be posting copies of the statements. Any monies I request for Deno's care will be supported either by a receipt or an invoice - that way all is not only "above board" but can be seen to be so.
Deno really does depend on his Defenders for all his needs and so far has been very lucky with all the support he has received.

my best freind leaves me and the only thing i got was a horse with wobbly legs!!!!!

but did have shoes when he was with mr nasty.
sheb says watch out when leaning him up against a tree, hes so big hes likely to fell it,

Elph......am I right in thinking they weren't thick enough and didn't hold up? Will put thinking cap back on for sturdier ones, still have the template for printing :-)

The two girls are fine Borzoi - will post some pics later - getting lots of love and attention from the lady who rents BIL house as well as her daughter who is having riding lessons on Ruby

I have the trays that cat food comes in which is sturdy, some people might have a shoebox etc etc??

sheb felt it made sense to give deno to me, it means creeky has a point of contact in the uk for him instead of having to track sheb to outer mongolia or where ever it is she is living!!

horses are usually shod to protect thier feet when working on roads and rough surfaces.
missy goth's little endurance horse is actually worked entirely shoeless, in the horse world, this is known as barefoot, and as long as missy is watchful, it has so far proved very successful, plus, little endurance horse has a farrier phobia!!! well actually its the farrier who has the phobia of being booted across the yard, little white horse hates being shod, so, hence she is barefoot!!!!
in deno's case, he hasn't had them on because of the severe damage to one of his front feet, plus he wasn't being ridden,
it was hoped that while he was with sheb that corrective, protective shoes could be fitted,
but due to sheb's declining health,
and deno being a bit of a t*t!! it never happened,
creeky, don't panic too much, deno has had quite a bit of remedial fairrier work, so is at least used to hoepfully picking his feet up, as to standing on only 3 legs at a time, can i suggest a crane hire company!!!
or your big oil drum bbq, take the grill off, empty it out, tip deno into it upside down, feet in air, problem solved!!!
