Dads Funeral

My dad sadly passed a few weeks ago and it was his funeral on Friday

He had been a keen motorcyclist most of his life, and this was how he travelled to the cemetery

This was his choice

Re: Dads Funeral

Sorry for your loss mustard.

I don't think I've ever seen one of those before, what a great idea!

Daughter's mother in law died on Easter Sunday and her funeral is next Thursday.  She wants black horses and carriage!!  😮

Re: Dads Funeral

It's always difficult saying goodbye to family and friends, but when it's people who looked after you; when you were at your most venerable in life, it's particularly hard and when you've had good parents.......it's a debt we all know we can never fully repay.

Re: Dads Funeral

So very sorry to hear about your loss mustard.

Your dad was obviously a fantastic man and chose a truly stylish means of transport that meant so much to him for his last trip.

He will be long remembered.

Re: Dads Funeral

It sure did Captain, especially when the bike shot down a dual carriageway at about 70mph

The final blast, they called it.

Dad had a burial in a family plot, and we later discovered that when mum passed in 2010,  Dad had arranged for her ashes to be stored at the funeral directors, and they were put in the coffin with dad. They had been married for 64 years, so a nice touch, we thought.
