Ha ha ...lived in Scotland for a few years so know most of them ...
My ( English ) hubby worked in Edinburgh and used to post a Scottish word for the day on the noticeboard to see if any one knew what it meant ....limited success as many people who work in Edinburgh are not actually Scottish ...
Still have the book ...good fun ...

I wouldn't know - as a Sassenach, anybody north of Hatfield is North Country! Same as anybody from Norfolk is a carrot cruncher or a swede basher, nibbling away on a stick of corn - eee, oiii, arrrrr - oi loyke that Misseee!
