Prohibited Items

I was under the impression that edged weapons, bladed articles, were prohibited on ebay. I reported a bayonet being being described as a relic letter opener and was informed that it did not contravene listing practices !

The listing was for a bayonet scabbard and frog, if intersted a relic letter opener is availble.

Now call me old fashioned but it's not difficult to realise that the listing is icluding the K98 bayonet with the scabbard and frog.

Am I to assume that listing a bayonet as a letter opener is acceptable on ebay now ?

List a Swiss army penknife and it's whisked off very quickly, not so apparently a bayonet.....

Thoughts ?....

Re: Prohibited Items

A discussion about reporting and responses from eBay is an interesting one. If I were in your position, I would have make sure I understood eBay's policy Weapons policy | eBay

Then I would report the Item not conforming to that policy. These reports are often responded to by AI, and often the response is incorrect, but you have the opportunity to Appeal. When appealing I put in as many facts as possible, including eBay's own policy points. Often the Item is taken down upon appeal.
