Weekly Chat with the eBay Community Team- 29.05.24 @2pm

Hi, question regarding the simple delivery which is due to start on the 3rd June.
Where and when can I find the opt out button?

Hi,

I created a post here (https://community.ebay.co.uk/t5/Seller-Central/Negative-Feedback-Review-Removal/m-p/7612418#M669376) which was completely ignored by the Admin to this forum together with my private messages.

I have since spoken to the call centre 4 times who agreed with me and falsely promised to review the feedback and in fact did nothing. I have spoken to a manager (Leon) today who stated that the word ‘Fake' is not defamatory and that a buyer can send private messages containing profane language and threats prior to leaving negative feedback and that the feedback will still remain.

These are clear breaches of Ebay's Feedback extortion and Threats and Offensive Language Policies yet it seems you choose to enforce them inconsistently (an example where feedback has been removed https://community.ebay.co.uk/t5/Member-To-Member-Support/Unfair-Feedback-Revision-Denied/td-p/757892...) and now provide zero seller protection.

As an operator of a website you are liable for statements posted on this website under the Defamation Act 2013. If this statement is not removed then I will be filing a notice of complaint. I have also forwarded a copy of this post to the Ebay CEO.

After 10 years of selling on eBay & having 100% feedback the entire time, one unsolicited comment has dropped it down, putting off future buyers yet eBay have rewarded my loyalty with absolutely nothing.

I’m sure that most sellers would be appalled by this lack of assistance and that it will help to increase the flood of sellers leaving the platform.

Hi leadhills_scot, thanks for your question.

Because this hasn't gone live yet, this option wouldn't be available as of yet. However, I will look into this now to see how you can do this once it goes live. I will provide an update here as soon as we get confirmation on this.

Thank you,

Marco

My shop subscription ends at the end of the month.

I am aware that current GTC listings will auto renew at non shop prices.

Will this include items currently on the shop but out of stock.

Hi, I face a massive problem and want to know if any of you have the same experience. I got a few negative feedbacks selling used electronic goods. First situation: The buyer claimed a return because the phone didn't turn on. He was disappointed and returned the phone, but the phone was in absolutely perfect working condition. I just pressed turn on and it turned on. I contacted the buyer to send it back because it's perfectly fine with a photo. The buyer didn't want to and he left negative feedback that affected my score.

Later was almost the same. The buyer wanted to get a charger, but the description stated no charger was included. I offered a refund, but he wanted to get extra money so I refused, and I got negative feedback. I reported the buyer but it still impacts my score.

Yesterday, a lady wanted to force me to give money back for a used tablet after the guarantee time and return period had expired. I did not accept it because when she got the item it was fully working, which she confirmed in a message. She bombarded me to get this return and at the end, I got negative feedback...
I have this feeling that this
should be removed... if ebay remove and agree thats this violent policy why I should still be punished?

Hi messier44000, thanks for your question.

The answer here would be no, it would stay online, but because it is out of stock there is nothing really to renew.

Hope this helps,

Marco

Any update on this from last week ?

Where would i find your updates?

Any news on how the Regulatory Info you pass to HMRC will be / has been shown?

Why if the Fee is your cost to submit the info to HMRC is the fee a Percentage of the sale - surely a fixed amount (if anything) would be more appropriate?

Hi @pauuk.35za36, thanks for your post.

We are unable to deal with the feedback removal here on community pages. All appeals can be done only via our Feedback appeal team here via Seller Help spkl.io/601440Q50.

Thanks,

Anita

Hi 2swanz, thanks for your post.

We wouldn't be able to review this for you over here. However, you are more than welcome to contact customer support, so they can look into it for you. Alternatively, you can send your buyers a feedback revision request form to see if they'd be willing to change the feedback they left.

Thank you,

Marco

Hi @a45heaven

This was sent on as a possible site improvement so unfortunately there is no update.

Site improvement suggestions can several months to implement if it is approved. I wouldn't have any visibility on where it is in the process at the moment. If it is approved we will post an update as soon as one becomes available.

Thanks,

Dave

For the last month or so sold emails for auctions to domestic UK customers are coming through with the international postage charge shown instead of the domestic one.

So if the item ends at say £5 with free UK postage, to a UK buyer.  The email comes through as £5+£10 postage (my international rate).

Now the problem is the buyers email saying they've won the auction is presumably also the same, as I've received a number of irate messages from buyers who are receiving these emails and think I'm adding a rip off postage charge on that wasn't displayed before.

Once the buyer goes to pay, the postage corrects itself to free, so its just an error on the emails being sent out.

Its frustrating as its annoying customers and its resulting in an increase in the number of unpaid items.

This is happening on 100% of the items, so for an example just look at any item Ive sold in the last month

Please can we get the ability to edit listing variation names? If we need to update them or correct a typo, the entry needs to be deleted and recreated, which means the price, sorting position, photos, quantity etc are removed, and any watchers are lost.

Sorryi didnt think so - the solution offered by a member was deemed a solution by the Community Team.

The amounts you show as being a refund and which will be forwarded to HMRC as a Financial Detail of the members activities.

If this was my bank, well to be honest, they wouldnt allow a simple error as this to be incorporated. Is ebay not classed under a Financial Body now?

Hi @2swanz,

I see where you are coming from, however, this is something that we don't deal with here on community. We do have a specialized team that is looking after feedback appeal requests, and they are fully trained on this.

If the feedback appeal was denied by them, it would have not qualified for an appeal as per policy.

Thanks,

Anita

Hi hatsford, thanks for your message.

Thank you for flagging this with us, do you have a screenshot showing the issue in question, so we can take a further look?

Thank you,

In the seller hub, in items awaiting payment the 'total' column is blank. The subtotal is there and correct, but the total is blank.

This is particularly annoying as my overseas trade customers like to buy a number of items over different days , and I regularly send them invoices. Now I can't see how much postage I charged them and have to recalculate from scratch everytime they add another item.

Again its happening on 100% of the items in the seller hub, so just look at that for an example

Hi,

You have dealt with feedback removal here on the community pages:

https://community.ebay.co.uk/t5/Member-To-Member-Support/Unfair-Feedback-Revision-Denied/td-p/757892...

I do not accept that you are unable to deal with the feedback removal here on community pages, this is just another way of ignoring my request.

As stated if this continues to be ignored then I will be taking legal action.
