Hi everybody!
The Community Chat will open at 2pm and will remain open until 3pm on Wednesday. After that it will be closed for further questions. Of course, we will continue to take care of answering any questions that may still be unanswered—We’ll get to everything as quickly as possible.
Please ask your questions in the thread below. In order to be able to answer your questions as quickly as possible, we ask you to have one question per post. Of course, you can make as many posts as you like in the Chat- the more the merrier!
This week, our eBay Community Team is made up of kat@ebay, dave@ebay and marco@ebay. Between us, we have knowledge in Buying, Selling, Fulfilment, Payments, and the Community itself. Anything we aren’t sure on we’ll know the people who will be! Please ask us any questions you may have and we’ll do all we can to support. We understand that certain topics, such as concerns about businesses possibly using private accounts, can be frustrating and important to you. Please refrain from asking the same question repeatedly in our weekly live chats. We assure you that we carefully review all posts in the forum and ensure that your concerns are communicated to the relevant teams for appropriate action.
To maintain a constructive and community environment, posts that repeatedly breach this guideline may be removed. Continued violations could result in further action against your community account. We appreciate your cooperation and understanding in helping us keep our community focused and respectful.
To ask your question, click Reply in the lower-right corner of this post, type your question, and click Reply between 2pm and 3pm. The community team will answer each incoming question in chronological order and will quote the original question in each answer.
Please note that any reply without a question to the community team or discussion replies may be removed from the chat. We want to keep on track to get through as many questions as possible. We welcome all discussion to be moved to the discussion boards.
If you missed the weekly chat time, please ask your question in the community boards and tag us or we will be back next week with another chat!
Many thanks,
Your eBay Community Team

When I got to print a picking list why is the first page blank?
Why do the rest of the pages have so much space meaning it takes 3 more pages to print a dozen or so lines?
Hi @the_brick_lodge ,
This may be to do with the settings on your printer. I am not sure why you would be getting a first blank page. You should be able to choose what pages to print so can skip a blank page. With regards to the sizing you should also be able to change via printer settings.
Thank you,
Kat
I respectfully disagree, the second screenshot clearly shows the data is split into columns, order and send to are not repeated for each line as it was one customer buying multiple items, thus leaving a lot of blank space.
I should be able to print a picking list with around 30 order lines on it, the design is poor.
Hi @the_brick_lodge ,
I'll share your feedback regarding the design of it.
Thank you,
Kat

Following on from my PREVIOUS POSTS - Regarding shipping policy
And sellers changing delivery method without consultation
My latest example(could give more) of why it is of great import to me that this practise should be stopped
Seller changed delivery
Courier states no one at home. I was, as evidenced by the receipt of another ebay purchase shows
Now I have to undertake a 40 minute round trip to a post locker where the(unchosen) courier has delivered
I only wish to receive what was advertised and paid for
So why do ebay allow buyers to be forcibly inconvenienced by a will-not-be-punished seller?

Hi Guys
I am having problems with eBay shipping labels - nothing on my site has changed but now I am getting error messages when trying to print a label.
Last couple of days I couldn't print a second class large letter label but could print tracked 24/48. Today I am not able to do either - is this a known issue and if so when is it likely to be fixed? If not can you raise it with the relevant department please.
Thanks

Hi @icecarmedia
I understand that this example is not a great situation for you and its not what we would expect of sellers, to give this type of experience to buyers. However as mentioned before there are situations where sellers may have to change couriers due to factors outside of their control. Right now there there is no change to the policy but we will continue to share your examples as feedback.
Thank you,
Kat

It is against eBay policy to have a registered trademark in your user name please?
If youre the trademark holder there shouldn't be an issue. If you're not and the trademark holder reports your user ID you may be forced to change it.
Thanks,
Dave
Thanks Dave so why does the help pages say this:
https://www.ebay.co.uk/help/policies/identity-policies/username-policy?id=4235
We don't allow usernames that include offensive language, third-party trademarks, email or web addresses, or the word "eBay".
Your stance sounds a bit wishy washy compared to the above text? Surely eBay should change the ID when reported if that's the policy, rather than needing the rights owner to report it (either that or the help page needs rewriting)?
If it's proved to be trademarked it most likely will. My reply was to a general question so I can't say for definite if something will or won't be changed or removed.
You can certainly reach out to customer service with any examples you have and I'm sure they will be able to give you a more specific answer.
Thanks,
Dave
Thanks Dave, can you look at the report I sent sometime in the last week, was reviewed by a customer service rep, no violation, appealled with link to above and link to the trademark on gov website and nope, all fine apparently.
The trademark in question is extremely well known.
Unfortunately, as we're not a customer support team we can't see reports. If you appealed it to the above and to the trademark holder, it possible that it's OK to use.
Thanks,
Dave

Hi jamjartoys, thanks for your post.
There is a similar issue at the moment, but it doesn't look the exact same as yours. I know you probably tried this, but did you try using a different browser or clearing the caches and cookies of your browser? If you haven't please try that, and if it doesn't work, let me know and I will report it for you no problem.
Thank you,
Marco

Can you get the Dev to check the delivery date algorithm.
I had an order today at 9:27am, and it shown the custer that is brand new only just registered today that he will get a 2nd class post item in 1-2 days when its in reallity 2-3 days.
Its giving customer a false sence that they will get items sooner than possible, expecially a new buyer who may be let down and potentally never used eBay agan if it arrives on the 3rd day.
I have made a post on the business seller forum for more information.

I doubt Lego are happy for the seller to use their trademark, I don't see why I'd need to report it to Lego either if it's in your policy.
I just assume, as usual, that you don't enforce your policies (I assume you will say you do but I've been here for over 2 decades and well you don't)

Hi stormatic2015, thanks for message.
I understand where you are coming from, but as we always say here, estimated delivery dates are dynamic and take multiple different factors into consideration before generating these dates. If you want, you can confirm 1 or 2 items numbers where you think it was wrong, so we can take a look to make sure there is nothing wrong there, but just to set up the right expectation, please note that there might not be anything wrong with it.
Thank you,
Marco

Surely if the seller cannot supply what was advertised and paid for then it would seem reasonable that the change was agreed by, not forced on, the buyer.
2 out of my past 6 ebay purchases have sellers doing this courier switcheroo
Doing so by design, not due to events outwith their control
In the example I gave above the seller states they have been using courier B whilst advertising A in their listing for the past year
The second one, likewise using courier B listing A, stated they do so to offer FREE postage
I'm still awaiting updates for this purchase
I'm not saying ebay is encouraging this practise, however they should be doing more to discourage it

All purchase from 9pm yesterday to 9:27am when post office is not open. There is more but you asked for 1-2.
All these are incorrect, unless you can tell me where im going wrong with my cutt off time or delivery policy that will fix it.

Hi stormatic2015, thanks for your reply.
As advised above, they are dynamic and take multiple factors into consideration, so it is not only down to the cut off times. However, I have passed these examples for review, once I get an update, I will leave it here, so you can see it.
Thank you,
