It is against eBay policy to have a registered trademark in your user name please?
If youre the trademark holder there shouldn't be an issue. If you're not and the trademark holder reports your user ID you may be forced to change it.
Thanks,
Dave
Thanks Dave so why does the help pages say this:
https://www.ebay.co.uk/help/policies/identity-policies/username-policy?id=4235
We don't allow usernames that include offensive language, third-party trademarks, email or web addresses, or the word "eBay".
Your stance sounds a bit wishy washy compared to the above text? Surely eBay should change the ID when reported if that's the policy, rather than needing the rights owner to report it (either that or the help page needs rewriting)?
If it's proved to be trademarked it most likely will. My reply was to a general question so I can't say for definite if something will or won't be changed or removed.
You can certainly reach out to customer service with any examples you have and I'm sure they will be able to give you a more specific answer.
Thanks,
Dave
Thanks Dave, can you look at the report I sent sometime in the last week, was reviewed by a customer service rep, no violation, appealled with link to above and link to the trademark on gov website and nope, all fine apparently.
The trademark in question is extremely well known.
Unfortunately, as we're not a customer support team we can't see reports. If you appealed it to the above and to the trademark holder, it possible that it's OK to use.
Thanks,
Dave
