It looks like the relationship between Nectar and eBay is changing, as i've just had this email from Nectar
"From the 1st of September, the way you collect and spend Nectar points with eBay is changing.
You will no longer be able to collect or spend Nectar points directly on the eBay website or app, and your Nectar and eBay accounts will be unlinked.
However, you will be able to collect Nectar points on your eBay transactions when you shop via Nectar. Simply search for eBay on the Nectar app or website and click out to the eBay website or app to make your purchase. And the good news is you will be able to collect 2pts for every £1 spent at eBay (instead of the current 1pt per £1)*. Head to https://www.nectar.com/eshops to find out more.
Any vouchers that you have already created on eBay before 31st August will remain valid on eBay until their expiration. Any points you have collected will remain in your Nectar account ready for you to spend on the things you’d like from our other partners like Sainsbury’s, Argos, Esso, British Airways and many more.
For any questions, please see FAQs here.
In the meantime, you can keep collecting and spending Nectar points at eBay.
To get the most out of Nectar, download the Nectar app.
Thanks,
The Nectar Team"
so if you want to spend your nectar points on ebay create the vouchers now, and if you want to keep collecting points you'll need to come in via the nectar site/app rather than directly to ebay

It's worth reading the T's & C's as some of them are rather irksome!
Amongst which, for example:
Do NOT add products to the ebay wishlist and purchase/bid later.
DO NOT visit other websites (including Google) whilst browsing on eBay – this may result in you not earning rewards.
What the flying brief relationship?!

Nectar T's & C's on the site are out of date now and need updating. they still say you can get nectar vouchers and they only offer 1 point instead of the new 2 points. What a disaster they are.

If you purchased from the link in the Nectar app or web page , you will get an email from Nectar stating the amount of points you will be getting, thats what has happened to me

My email from Nectar came the next day
02-09-2024 3:52 PM
Only problem I have is it says the below:-
"It usually takes 90 days for eBay purchases to be approved. Please allow up to 5 business days after this period for your Nectar points to appear in your points balance."

Nectar tends to update every 2 days. It's a bit odd as the title under activities might say 31 August 2024 but when you click the individual items underneath the title it can say Points added:1st September 2024.
I guess there is not enough support to update every day.

Following on from my earlier post, I've had an email today from nectar, confirming the transaction and the number of points. Seems they aren't as quick in sending confirmations out as eBay - maybe my expectations were too high....
So I'll be getting the points which is good - just may have to wait 90 days to get them.

That was the information I provided to you.
You mentioned that perhaps your expectations were too high. However, I must clarify that I no longer hold any expectations for either eBay or Nectar, especially eBay.
Have you?
Sorry for your loss, now.

Have used ebay nectar since it started and it was useful ,but this change is total bs and i eve did the login via there website did as it said and did the points work ? nope ,no points no email from them nothing despite buying via there page ,,so well done ebay and nectar another way of putting 2 fingers up to loyal customers ,,,i can see why ebay is a waste of time now and so few use it most shop via amazon ....and the amount you have to spend with these so called points deals is a joke anyway ...so from now on and after 20 years on ebay ,,,i will now think twice before i go via ebay ,,,,give with one hand and take with the other ...so 2nd sept 2024 and there whole nectar ebay via nectar web app ...doesnt even work ,despite having only there web page open and making sure all cookies are accepted and any ad blockers are turned off and cache was cleared from browser

Instead of getting rid of Chinese scammers, eBay kicked out Nectar. Nectar, although slow to grow, was a profit, but the Chinese only discourage people from buying on eBay. Consumer satisfaction comes last, even though eBay makes money from it. Where's the logic here?

It's the most stupid thing that nectar/ebay have done! Now you have to go to the nectar app, find the appropriate section, enter eBay then the nectar app directs you to eBay and then you have to sign in, then your points will be collected when you buy. Pointless Excercise ! I won't be doing that every time I want to use eBay! Big loss for nectar and eBay! It was perfect the way it was. I for one, will not be going through all that rigmarole to get nectar points... stupid waste of time. Nectar are going to lose out big time for doing this! Crazy idea!

I can't even find how to get to eBay from the nectar app.
15-09-2024 8:37 AM
Use the " search " box, then enter eBay . Think you have to go to the "shop and spend" section first though ? Too much of a mess on for me, so I'm just not gonna be collecting points from eBay .

I stopped using eBay for Nectar points, I recommend using Topcashback instead its so much easier. You get the same amount of points/cash value (obviously no double dipping anymore.) but they have better % offers throughout the year and it's instant with one click. No, messing around.

I have made 2 purchases and not showing any points on Nextar, or received any emails.
Both times I went to the Nectar website.
Clicked the link to ebay.
Searched for an item and bought it.
No points from Nectar.
Am I doing something wrong?

Nectar points can take 28 days to appear in your account but are usually shown much sooner.

Last week I made 3 purchases on ebay through the nectar website and clicking on the relevant links.
Two of the 3 resulted in an email confirmation to say I would get nectar points, currently 4 for a £ but the most expensive item was ignored and as it was £50 that is 200 points not awarded.
So it does seem to be hit and miss at present.

It appears that if you do not get a confirmation email soon after purchase you do not get the points sadly.
