NEVER - NEVER - NEVER pay using eBay payments.

NEVER - NEVER - NEVER pay using eBay payments.
If you have a warranty problem after 30 days, eBay won't cover you and the seller won't want to know.
Always use PayPal as they honour UK Consumer Law, stating that the retailer is fully responsible for faulty goods for up to six months.

Your information is out of date.

Paypal used to allow you to start a return case for faulty items for up to 180 days.

Now, it's 30 days. the same as Ebay.

https://www.paypal.com/uk/legalhub/paypal/buyer-protection

Scroll down to the table where is states the timeframe for opening a 'significantly not as described' claim.

Re: NEVER - NEVER - NEVER pay using eBay payments.

For warranties I would never buy off ebay.

Buy from a reputable online retailer.

They will honor warranties for full period advertised.

I get 3 year warranties on my pc parts.

"the retailer is fully responsible for faulty goods for up to six months."

But eBay are not the 'retailer'.

I marked this as helpful because the advice not to use an eBay balance to pay for items is still valid, even if the PayPal suggestion isn't necessarily the solution. I believe that a credit card is the safest way to pay.
