Hello,
I bought some motorbike LED indicators. After fitting them it rained and I noticed they fill up with water and 50% of the LEDs in them no longer work. I raised a return with the seller but after about 5 days they closed the return saying i need to take the indicators off my bike, meaning i'd have to un-wire them and take the headlight apart, dry them, fit them again, recalibrate my headlight orientation). But this isn't going to stop further water ingress the next time it rains. Then they closed the return and there's no option to appeal.
I tried to contact ebay and the chat bot said they ring me but i've had no call.
How can i go about getting a refund?

How can i go about getting a refund?
You need to send the item back if the seller requests it to receive a full refund.
Looks like you timed yourself out for this if the case closed, or did you open it too late? Whatever the reason, another cannot be opened for this item with eBay.
You could try your payment provider now for help with a refund.

Well the seller shutdown the return so there's no process of returning it for a refund otherwise i would. It's a business ebay account. It was delivered on the 11th September and i requested a return for defective item on the 21st October after it'd rained an I saw an issue. Then they replied and shutdown the return on the 25th.
Aren't businesses obliged to refund or exchange on defective items?

You were out of time for an eBay case, you have 30 days from delivery to raise any issues.

As advised, you are out of time to do anything through Ebay.
If you paid with a debit or credit card you can ask your bank/payment provider to start a chargeback on the grounds you have bought an item online which is not fit for purpose.
