I bought a Samsung Galaxy s9 plus phone from Ebay which came with 12 months warranty purchased through paypal. After 4 months the phone stopped working and would not switch on. Thinking it might be the battery went to the phone shop to have the battery replaced on checking the battery I was told the battery was okay that the issue was with the phone itself that it was completely dead.
I reported this to the seller who replied that the phone not working is not covered by the warranty, is this correct?
Reading the T&C for Paypal it stated that Paypal's warranty does not extend to cables, accessories, plugs or power supply. Has everyone experienced this before?
The Buyer
As said you have not given enough information. You start off with the completely wrong comment that you bought from ebay! You didn't you bought from a seller using the Ebay selling platform.
It is the seller who would be responsible for any Warranty (if any) offered, all ebay and paypal offer is related to condition on arrival, which is in addition to your legal rights.
If it was a Private Seller any Warranty mentioned is almost certainly worthless.
