Can anyone advise who is the cheapest courier to use when shipping large and heavy (+30kg) furniture items within the UK please?

Shiply is your best bet. Couriers will bid for the delivery and you can choose the lowest or best price
( depending on the couriers feedback).

There are actually a lot of speciality couriers out there to ship heavy and large items.
Companies such as Furdeco. But there are many, and you need to look and find one that suits.
They can then offer to arrange specific days delivery etc with the customer directly.
Along with other benefits.
I used to use them to ship White goods and they were good.
Also, if your selling on Amazon, you might want to look at the Heavy and Bulky program.
You could then use them to send items out for customers on Ebay etc.

Almost all jobs on Shiply seem to be won by a company called Proovia, operating under various different names. If you need an idea of pricing at the time of listing you can get a quote off the Proovia website, or through Interparcel. Pallet delivery might be another option.

By default I have used this courier. They seem to change their business name on a regular basis.
The staff that collect speak very little, or No English, and the handling of furniture is well below standard, more items arrive damaged than not.
