Quitting - just yoo stoopid!

I Quit!!

It's been over 16 long years that I have been buying and selling on eBay (as a private seller) ~ until recently, I actually had a demanding career too.

I'e been legally blind since the age of 6, am severely disabled and at 53 years old, i am unable to walk. But as.I now know that I will never have to worry about a secure pension, I had hoped that I might be able to not be compelled to end my days here if I could clear all the stacked boxes here.

Often people are reluctant to sell on eBay despite the possibility of achieving a higher price due to the lengthy and complicated listing process. They're not wrong really, are they?

I'm no Einstein, but I do have 3 bachelor's degrees, a doctorate, am a published author and a qualified chef.

However, it's a true rarity when a listing is successfully posted without having to phone a friend

I just encountered ebay's solution by way of the new upload system and as a result have removed all my listings.

This has to have been designed by the same genius that added BING to Microsoft Edge.

The chances of me communicating with the "assistance" bot.. the same one that doesn't understand "I AM BLIND".. Yeah.

Isn't ableism grand??

Goo luck 🍀

ebay's increasing control over how accounts can be operated make no concession to any disabilities the user may have.

I honestly don't see how they win a discrimination case if one is brought against them for Simple Delivery.

Doesn't matter how good/expensive their lawyers are. There are just too many examples of disabled being adversely affected now.

& many of them are obviously valid.

I agree the listing process has become more and more complex. Item specifics were a good idea but soooooo detailed and the problem is many sellers copy someone elses because the dont know what to put making the item specifics wrong in many many cases which in turn makes the whole point of item specifics invalid

If you ever get to speak to CS, ask them to register your sight loss and any other things that you would class as a disability. In fact I would do this with any company you deal with. They may not be able to help on every occasion but at least it will add to our collective voice.
