Prepaid post label

Morning. I just very confused after when see this in the morning.

So yesterday I sold 1 item and the buyer accepted my offer. So today morning Ijust wanted to buy label and just read the buyer already prepaid it. After just confused how do this without known the box size and the weight. On Ebay when I clicked to shows prepaid label what I saw: Royal Mail tracked; large letter and weight is 1 gramm. After just see what is this. This packed item almost 2 kg and medium parcel. I sent message to buyer how bought that label without any measurements. Strange here I try cancel label to create new but system says I can not. So the buyer sent message and he just was confused he said After when accepted my offer this automatically created the label by Ebal not him do that. So this is totally mess because the label shows totally different measurements and type of parcel because if not see this huge problem at the post service will refuse to accept the parcel. So I just think probably in the future more and more similar problem will be? 🤔🤔🤔

It looks like eBay have updated existing listings for Simple Delivery which in some cases will result in the listed weight/dimensions being incorrect and so the pre-paid label purchased by the buyer will not be sufficient.  You won't be able to drop your parcel off at the Post Office with the pre-paid label - you may have to purchase your own label for this delivery.  Check your other listings in case they have incorrect postage details.

Prepaid post label

With the new simple delivery the buyer pays ebay directly for the postage and ebay send you a prepaid postage label. There have been many posts about the wrong sized label being sent. You can either take a hit on the postage or cancel the sale.

This whole facade is not  helped by ebay publishing things like this, without anything to substantiate it, and how that is going to work with Evri and RM.

I am not even sure if ebay realise that the post office, and royal mail are two separate companies as I know no sub postmaster would accept a wrongly pre-paid label on a parcel, Each post office would be fined by RM for this breach and part of their monthly targets on correct segregation. Every post office employee would say either get a new label or buy the correct postage. You cannot pay the difference over the counter. We wait with baited breath........

Could you clarify if this sale was please made on the account you are posting on, and not on a different private account?

There appear to be no plans (at the moment) to extend Simple Delivery to business accounts, so this situation should not have been possible.

Thanks.
