I have business account and Ebay in their infinite wisdom, have changed the way I'm paid out to 3 days after delivery has been confirmed. Apparently this is being rolled out to everyone via email. Anyone else experienced this?

For any business sellers who have had this payout delay until after delivery applied, FYI - eBay UK just joined PayPal, Temu, OnBuy, Stripe and others in signing the Office of the Small Business Commissioner's 10 point payments fairness and transparency pledge.

Just had this latest response from the CS agent. Apparently ebay need 30days to check the buyer has received the item and checked it carefully? Cant make it up.

It's BS. They want to hold your money for their own gain-simple bud.

Thats my point and I was being a bit sarcy tbh. I'm well aware why its being done. Does it really take 30 days for delivery and for the buyer to 'inspect' the item? Ahahah. Lets hope the small business commisioner sees my point of view.

The thing is if there is a problem, we as business sellers are liable! The customer would go through the ebay process and obtain a refund from us-NOT ebay! So it doesn't matter holding funds-joke!
23-10-2025 12:54 PM
and they get us just 2 working days to inspect a return prior auto-refund...

Maybe they have an army of people who go out and film people " carefully " checking their item.
It's getting to a stage now where you no longer own your own business. They own it and you are relegated to an employee and must follow what they want or you'll be up on a disciplinary.
It's like leasing a bricks and mortar premises and when you set up, it's the guy you leased your premises off who decides how you will operate your business and sets the strategy concerning transactions etc.

UPDATE: Had a reply from the small business commisioner and they arent interested because its a contract between us and ebay. So begs the question whats the point in ebay signing up to their fair payments charter?

"So begs the question whats the point in ebay signing up to their fair payments charter?" - I would have asked the commissioner that question and suggested it was just a PR exercise for both eBay and themselves.
Then send the response to your local MP with a request to know how much taxpayer money is funding that organisation.

Did you try the Ombudsman?
30-10-2025 9:22 AM
Yes same response. Have you had any joy with the ombudsman?

Not yet but they have taken the case up. Will let you know the outcome but I fear the worst.

We've had a placement hold put on our daily dispersement payments
"Following recent reviews, we have placed a payment holds on your account. This means you will see payments for orders being placed "On Hold" until delivery is confirmed. Uploading "Tracking" will be the most efficient way for this to be seen as once your Tracking shows successful delivery, the associated funds will be released within 24 hours."
Not sure if it part of same thing as mentioned in this thread but our account we do around 50k a month in sales and add tracking to at least 95% of our parcels with a late tracking rate of currently 0.09% (and that is the only count on the seller dashbaord) so there is no reason for our account to be under any restrictions like this , unless it is part of wider plan to move everyone to it so you only get paid once an item is delivered

Well you took that rather calmly! Get onto them and moan like hell. CS agents must be getting fed up with this and hopefully the more we complain the better the chance of getting this overturned. Just wait and see you'll be offered a loan shortly by youlend which is an ebay company btw! Interestingly though they said they'll release funds 24 hrs after confirmed delivery, mine has been 72 hrs. The whole thing stinks, holding funds, earning the interest and then offering bridging loans. My case is with the ombudsman, I'll let you know the outcome.

Just had an email saying i'll be getting payouts within 24hrs now again lol, it's been *bleep* like this since july

Just had the same message. But my orders still show funds on hold for 3 days after delivery which means 30 days for us as our post is sent untracked. I think it’s a glitch for us by the looks of it we are still having payouts held for 30 days
07-11-2025 10:50 PM
Have you had the same message as us saying you will be getting your funds within 24 hours? However just checked our latest order and it still shows funds as being held for 30 days *bleep*

We have had our funds held for up to 30 days since May. We have not received an email from ebay (I have just gone through and checked again) but all of our sales yesterday have cleared this morning so it looks like they are back to paying out within 24 hours.
All of the items sold before yesterday are still being held though so I guess it is just anything that sells from now will go straight into our account.

I spoke to eBay at the end of last week as we had returns/refunds to do and I didn't want money coming out the bank while they were holding money, I was told that the hold on payouts is some form of review on eBay as they process all the payments now and that every account will go through this while the account is being reviewed (I presume like some kind of audit) and that is should only be a couple of week before being back to normal apparently, the guy at eBay did say it had happened on his account already, but we'll see

Personally I think thats bull what youve been told. We have had payours held for 30 days for the past 4 months NOT just a couple of weeks like the bloke told you. Thankfully we are back to 24 hour payouts now.
