Listings removed as counterfeit - Clearly not counterfeit

Hey All, just looking for some-one here with a better understanding than myself.

Recently had 2 different Estee Lauder Items removed Under the Counterfeit Policy.

I run a long standing business of over a decade on here and know for 100% the items i sell are genuine, i have called eBay to discuss this and ask what in their eyes do they deem to make my item counterfeit to which i am given no answer.

All i was after is a explanation so i can counter it back with my own and photos, but customer service seem to have no time for this. Wondering if its a Brand target and Estee are putting pressure on eBay to remove listings with no real reason behind it, if so i just want to know as then i shall remove all products in that category so i do not loose my account.

Any information would be appreciated. Also feel some type of way since there are so many sellers with horrendous feedback of fake goods from customers still selling products freely that cause a real issue and eBay cannot tell the difference between genuine and fake themselves, but choose to remove my listings with no call, no email or explanation but are very happy with the 40k in fees i paid last year....

If they can do this whenever they want with no explanation and contact with us then it leaves an entire business open for problems even when only offering genuine goods at great prices, which this platform desperately needs to retain.

Any advice or insight would be welcomed.

Re: Listings removed as counterfeit - Clearly not counterfeit

I had the same problem with a puma top it wasn't new but it was genuine ,but ebay removed it said something along the lines that the licence owner said it was fake but if I wanted to get it looked at by puma they could tell me if it was genuine or not ,so it made me wonder who had said it was fake then ? Then 2 weeks later I had an email from ebay to tell me I could relist the top which I wasn't quite believing and so I spoke to customer service and they told me there had been a mistake and they would be perfectly happy for me to relist the top . So was it Ai who took the top off ,was it a buyer/seller reported it to ebay or was it Puma ?. To me if it had been Puma why 2 weeks later was it deemed genuine ,In my original  photos I had put all the tags ,the stitching the zip all close up pictures too .

Its just frustrating isn't it as sellers. It would just be nice for a  explanation so you can fight your own corner.

99% of the sellers and community are here to either make some spare funds or run good businesses, intern that keeps eBay relevant in an ever expanding market place so a focus on contacting your long standing sellers first would just be a nice idea. Just a phone call is needed

Re: Listings removed as counterfeit - Clearly not counterfeit

A lot of unhappy people have written reviews on trustpilot  about ebay  .Like you say it is very frustrating ,no one tells you what the real problem is with the listing it just gets removed . A big company like ebay you would think would have the ability to communicate with people properly but obviously not .My partner had his account closed when we moved house and he put a wrong digit in is bank acount number by mistake and he tried to rectify it but ebay didn't want to know they shut the account down ,said for safety and security it was best they parted ways they took all his money in his ebay account too and it was quite alot .  He had been with ebay from the very beginning too ,so he was hurt that he was treated the way he was .
