Lack of visibility for business sellers

I’m really getting tired of this. Profit so far this month excluding the cost of the item are -£44 in fees including shop fees. This should be my busiest time of the year and I’m certain that it’s all down to the lack of visibility if you refuse to promote. I’ve done some research of some of the items and categories and my times are showing sometimes three or four pages down on best match. I’m a top rated seller with 100% feedback and my views are absolutely appalling. There’s no other words

Profit however on another platform is running at £90. It’s getting to the stage when I can no longer afford to sell on here  I’ll certainly be downgrading the shop after Christmas. I’m getting very tired of eBay’s greed

Lack of visibility for business sellers

A lot of Sellers are refusing to Promote since promotions were untethered from actual sales, or even halo sales. Sometimes when things are slow it's worth taking another look at the basics to see what improvements can be made.

- Check photos. Your newest listing looks great! Whereas others look like they need better lighting. Where ever you are on the search pages, you want to make sure people don't scroll by. I liked your pop of orange behind the Royal Doulton Windermere Sugar Bowl with Lid.

- Check desirability. Royal Doulton Windermere Dessert Plates have not had a single sale in the last 90-days. And the 3-year sales had sets of 4 or even 6 for less than what you're charging for one. All of that is okay, it just means you will need to be very patient for the right buyer to come along.

- Check consistency. eBay seems to reward daily listing consistency like you were doing a fortnight ago. Experienced sellers would recommend continuing to list a few items every day in October, rather many items once a week.

- Check freshness. eBay recommends you don't end and relist/sell similar for items with a sales history, as it interrupts it. eBay also pushes newer listings up the search results. So you could end and relist some of the things you listed in July to make them more visible (including making sure the photos pop and prices are competitive).

Good luck with your October sales!

Good advice from style_wise. Something else, take the dash (-) out of the titles. They will count as a word, so first four words will be less effective. Try taking the backgound out of the pictures. Although your pictures are very good, we've found plain, no background photos are best.

Good luck!

Lack of visibility for business sellers

Hi

Thanks for all the good advice you have been giving on these pages, but with 100s of new listings/sold, why trading on a private account?  Thanks

The Background removal tool within the ebay app is actually really good. obviously you're better off if you can have an item professionaly photographed - but it works pretty well I'd say 90% of the time.
