Impressions broken again??

Can you please check if there is another problem with impressions? Another counting glitch? These stats can not be correct. Organic impressions promoted views down to under 3000 views today at time of writing. This time last week almost 73000 views. Please help.  dave@ebay kat@ebay

Dave are they testing again as impressions on promoted listing are nose diving again. Seems to be affecting sales and views

My impressions jumped up 28th and stayed pretty much the same after the drop on 18th. I only use 2% PL and organinc searches also doubled, sales improved too.  Were you hit by the 18th july tests for 10 days? Just wondering if not maybe a 2nd test group are being used for 10 days and others are now experiencing it?

Yes was affected from the 18th till 28th July then rocketed up again. Now from the 7th Aug they have gone down every day, affecting everything. It's a joke that they do all this,Dont tell you, affect your account but still want their money. Think the way we business sellers are treated is disgusting. You ring  customer service and they say everything is fine with account sometimes it's about the products you sell. Rubbish its pretty obvious they are messing about again but never inform anyone what they are doing and what affect it can have. They should be compensation for all who pay for shops when doing this due to the amount of disruption it causes.

The slide continues, so sorry not back to normal at all.  Sales now next to zero which has never ever happened in my whole eBay career... even the normal Weekend upturn is not happening..

I agree, not back to normal.  my time zones were resolved 4 days ago (after 3/4 weeks and 1000's of phone calls) and since then my sales are worse. I did wonder if they are doing extra/different tests between the uk/usa sites.  One thing that did intrest me today was i had 3 sales within 5 mins, then nothing after. I have to question what is going on in the IT dept something very odd. The sale time were 17.10, 17.12 and 17.15 so not even peak time....

I have exactly the same as you, I can get 5 sales within 15 mins of each other then nothing the rest of the day.  Its like being switched on for 15 mins then off again.  I also am seeing a restriction on how much I can earn.  If I hit a certain amount at 9.00 am in the morning I don't get any other sales until the next day.  Its so obvious its happening its a joke.  My busiest period used to be weekends and mainly a sunday now I can get zero sales on both days.

WOW its getting worse 3 sales Friday and had nothing all weekend. Fixed? Yeah ok eBay!

I have also had restriction on sales, between the 26th july to 1st all sale were within a couple of £'s, since my time zone change to normal they have reduced again but still within a couple of £'s. Just looking at this it also happened beginning of july 14th to the 16th july.

To be honest i think we all knew it happen but it wasn't so obvious as sales would be going on through the day and the end sales did vary.

FANTASTIC WORK EBAY TEAM WELL DONE! Keep on "testing" at the expense of your CUSTOMERS! (yes business sellers are also your CUSTOMERS, not just eBay Buyers who you look after at all costs)

I really cannot fathom how eBay are letting this continue, also not admitting that they have shanked their own system? Open today at 8:30. It's now 2:24 and still no sales? Usually by now we would be on around 700-800. We are stuck at £0. Made absolutely nothing. Please for the love of whoever it is you pray to sort this out. This is ridiculous, you're killing off ligitimate businesses just trying to make a living. I don't understand what is happening and why no one is sorting it out. I have also noticed that they're happy to change the interface of options for items but won't actually sort out the problem? Someone please explain the logic to me because we here at RI-Services do not understand. We are fuming. Absolute joke.

I can't fathom it either?  My first impressions for my account when it first started was that they no longer want my business due to me being in the second hand clothing section and everyman and their dog is selling that section now and they have too many but looking at some of the sellers on here that it is affecting there are a broad range of items being sold so that doesn't fit.  

Even if things do change on here now I cannot be bothered with all the hassel of not knowing if I might get 1 sale tomorrow or not, no one can manage a business like that its just not feasible.  

My sales weren't great before the 18th July and have been on a steady decline for the last 2 years but I've always had some sales every day and go to the Post Office ever day, since the 18th I'm now lucky if I go every other day to post and I have no inclination to offer a great service on here anymore as this does not account for anything on here.

Is eBay no longer a viable marketplace for a business to sell Dave? Should we all be looking elsewhere?
At this point, I think we all deserve honest feedback/solutions and timeframes from eBay.

I am only a one band and this is hurting a great deal. Though seeing larger businesses with many employees having the same issues as myself. Then seeing they are having to lay off staff because of eBay being broken, well in these economic times that is truly saddening!

Dave. This is comedy, half the ebay customer service reps don't know what an impression is! None of them are aware or aware of any testing done on promoted listing. Since 7th August promoted listing impressions have declined rapidly affecting views and sales dramatically. Yesterday they shot but up again and so did sales!  Today its like someone turned everything off again, impressions lower than they were before, views right down not an offer or sales insight! What the hell is going on! Please tell them to stop what they are doing unless they are going to compensate every affect user. We can't run businesses like this. For God sake help us!

Exactly the same as you, a few sales yesterday, 1 today despite listing over 50 new items, promoting, sell simliar, reducing items,, changing titles and photos which is what I do normally on a daily basis, nothing works on here.  Its a total waste of time and money listing on here now. This has been going on for more than a month now, disgraceful, what a shambles!!!

When I look at this thread it keeps saying "go to the solution' what solution this hasn't been sorted and I can't see it ever getting sorted, this is the new norm for me I think and many others as its been going on for a month and ebay are in no rush to sort this out.

May I make a suggestion... Ive looked at you listing and just picked out 

Top Size 10 New Look Animal Print Long Sleeve Blouse Party Going Out

Have you tried putting the strongest words first? I would search " Animal print ladies shirt" (not blouse eventhough thats correct)  you dont have the word ladies, polyester or shirt in the title. Maybe try mixing the titles around.   also your description is 3 lines, i have a feeling ebay is using keywords and llong tail keywords in the description, use BARD ai to write your descriptions and see if this helps. Ebay has definitely done something and Im trying new descriptions and adding as many relevant keywords in the item soevs too and my sales this week have boomed from a dry spell 18th -28th so just a suggestion. I dont think its broken, its changed, but trying to work out what is the trick

To add to the above suggestion, which I think is good advice, if I'm playing with new phrases I stick them in terrapeak to see volume of sales per 90 day period:

For the already used example, playing around with womens shirt, womens blouse, ladies shirt ladies blouse, the volumes over 90 days are:

womens shirt 803,391

womens blouse 508,716

ladies shirt 343,271

ladies blouse 198,502

So for my money, I'd go with womens shirt.  Bard is great at starting you off on search terms but its in beta mode and has a strong American bias in its language.  Some business sectors use slightly different terminology in different countries.
