I am very dissatisfied with Ebay customer service advisors. I would like to make a complaint and would like to know how to do this?

EBay customer services advised you incorrectly.
Although private sellers can refuse to accept change of mind returns, under the eBay MBG, buyers are still allowed to open a not as described case, requesting a return for a refund.
The seller as 3 business days to respond by supplying a returns label or refunding without getting the item back.
If the seller doesn't cooperate the buyer has up to 21 days, from the case opening, to ask eBay to step in and escalate the case.
When this happens eBay could issue a returns label on the sellers behalf or refund the buyer and tell them they can keep the item.
The buyer gets a full refund including postage and eBay keep their fees.
Sounds like this is what happened to you.
If you want your coat back you will have to ask the buyer very nicely if they would post it back if you send them a returns label. Otherwise learn the lesson and move on.

It's true that Ebay do not describe the probable sources of problems accurately. I spent half an hour after they requested a statement from me about the efficiency of a purchase, only to be told I would have to switch to a different route through their jungle to make my complaint. Trying to find that route was impossible. More time wasted. It seems that this company are not interested in satisfying their customers but only in taking their cash.
When I buy something I usually get an email receipt by return. This time I didn't and stupidly I thought the purchase had failed and re-ordered only to find I had purchased two items ..... and trying to sort that one out is impossible!

That is a very good question
The answer from my angle is almost impossible
You might also ask the question: How do you get eBay customer services to actually listen?
OR
How do you get eBay customer services to care about your dilemma?
All I know is that when you are desperate for them to look at an injustice they simply bat it away. Thank you for your loyal membership....blah blah blah. You get loads of that.
However when you have them by the curlies (they accidentally made a payment on my behalf to a buyer without asking. The funds were not in my account) THEN you get 8 emails in 35 minutes describing every fine detail.
So truth is perhaps you can't realistically complain. They are way too big now and unless they will be collecting more money you are (in my experience) wasting your time.
They should care, but don't.
I wish you luck and hope you post the outcome, which proves me incorrect.

Just found this - I am so *bleep*ed off at eBay, my complaint to Bill Cobb's email has just been bounced back to me as "Undelverable" - it reads
Dear eBay,
I’m starting out on selling A LOT of stuff on eBay, I keep hitting blockers. Your website keeps crashing, links don’t work and/or are out of date. I tried to pay for postage yesterday using my PayPal account – it just wouldn’t let me, had to use a Credit Card. However eBay seems fine using the same PayPal account when I buy stuff. The whole selling process has changed, it looks and functions differently on various OS’s and devices – I use an iPad, iPhone, Android, Windows – apps, various browsers etc. There is no consistency. The software is now over-complicated and obviously suffers from a lack of testing – common in the land of always-on live updates and the oh – we’ll fix it in a patch later philosophy.
I come from an age where there was no internet, patches or updates. Things like this annoy and affect me mentally. Stuff that once work, suddenly change, iOS updates render devices useless overnight because I have automatic updates on. And services like eBay – which I pay for, (12.8% fees?) I spend hours navigating changing systems – I charge $1000 a day as a consultant – you should be paying me.
You have previously cancelled my listings, repeatedly ignored my cries for help, it’s almost impossible to talk to a real person. I spend hours creating listings only to hit issues so I can’t save or list items for some bizarre reason. OK, in the grand scheme of things I’m little more than plankton in your sea – but Whales could not exist without plankton, and we talk. Sooner or later we will disappear and the Whales will starve?

If you dig deep enough into the ebay returns you find a chat box - type in that you want to speak to someone - a message pops up usually saying they will call you back within mins. 3 times I did thst this week and they did indeed call me back . But as for being of any help is another story. No one with any ability to use their own brain - just idiots reading from scripts. That's how they got to mxjevover 12 billion profit last year!

I hear you... I'm selling lots of music-stuff - great tips. Looking for alternatives right now.

*bleep* - I don't even understand how this forum works on Google Chrome - i.e. Web Browser? Worst forum/chat tool I have ever seen... It just seems like random posts - can't even find my recent posts! Jesus - anyone would think eBay didn't want to small fry to talk!!

Man - I give up... What is this forum all about? Do I reply to a post or a topic... Ha ha - apparently there's a "Go To Solution" hyperlink up there on the original listing - wonder where that takes me? (Opens link in new window) - https://community.ebay.co.uk/t5/Business-Seller-Board/How-can-I-make-a-complaint-about-Ebay-customer...
Pen and paper at the ready... This will be fun - haven't written a letter for yonks 🙂

I'm done with eBay... Stuff it. Had enough... Moving on... Profile Changed, active listings ended and deleted. Got a couple of items to ship, some money to be paid out. Then I'll kill my 100% positive 23 year-old profile. Bloody eBay
There's nothing here I can't do, better and cheaper elsewhere... Even in the real world, not this place - too big, too corporate, too "internet" for me. Might even meet some people in real life.

Had posts on here removed because of their T&C'

Hi
I'm just absolutely sunk by both eBay and this heavily biased forum.
I listed a CD with all legal identifiers and it was instantly removed as counterfeit. This 2 years ago. The CD which has always been freely listed on eBay by many sellers and sold at ALL leading stores was deemed counterfeit.
After 2 years I tried to list it once again. And as before it was removed as counterfeit.
This is the CD barcode/EAN
823564032948
This CD even today is being listed and sold on eBay by countless people.
All I wanted from eBay was a logical explanation. 500 chat conversations and emails later I still have no idea.
I asked eBay community for advice and just got a barrage of abuse and comments on a completely different subject.
Then my eBay selling record was spewd all over the forum pages - numbers and names etc
I asked eBay forum people to remove these details but last time I looked all private information was still there on public view.
Unaware to me it seems as though business traders are angry that private sellers can run a business on ebay without being registered.
When I started selling media items I first asked eBay if it was ok.
I had lost my health and become housebound. Just looking for an interest. Most definitely not a business. That was the last thing on my mind.
I was told that I am taking away eBay's profits because my fees are so low. Again, I'm baffled by that comment. Just sold a record for £29 and my eBay fees were £4.77.
That doesn't seem particularly low to me.
Transaction breakdown
Amount
£34.89
Fees (includes VAT)
-£4.77
See fee details
Net proceeds
£30.12
I'm just completely lost by the anger towards me. I am not selling to make a profit (and I assure anyone that I don't).
So these people that appear to sell things like seashells and fragrances are in a rage with me personally. And backed by the forum (apparently).
Their argument as with all private sellers is with eBay, not me. I asked a question relating to something which has caused bewilderment and stress. I just get a tirade of hate miles away from the question.
I did eventually get knowledgeable replies to my actual question. However it still doesn't really make sense that everyone on eBay can seemingly list this CD except for me.
I thought I'd actually got through to someone at eBay today. They sent me a reply. But nope... just more of the same. The CD is counterfeit and cannot be sold on eBay. We are sorry!!!???

This was not private information, it is publically available to anyone on the site. No-one's selling history is private you just have to click on the links at the bottom left on the items for sale page, or look at feedback. That's why they won't be removed by moderators.
You also openly admitted buying items for the purpose of selling them, that's a business, like it or not, profit or not, hobby or not.
