Any thoughts as why would suddenly ebay sales would do ZERO since start of February.
We have been closely monitoring our sales and since start of January 2025 sales are down. But they have now completely died as soon as February started.

I've been able to keep things moving by mixing up the type of things I sell and using loss leaders. Ebay isn't the "list and sell" site it used to be. It's working for me (for now). This is only my opinion / experience though.

I added 16 listings this morning, three sales today, quiet, but hey ho......Anything going out the door is a bonus.

App is useless. Continuously spinning ball.
Apparently phone crashes or eBay app crashes all the time, could only put one new item up last night and that took longer than expected.
give up in the end.
my iPhone had updated to the latest iOS 18. It’s fine on another selling app but not on ebay.

Mines always been busy each February but not this year. One or two sales per day. Had to drop down a level to basic shop but as I have over 900 items on sale. Two weeks into February already getting charged 12p a item being sold, can’t afford that either.

The only thing I did for GPSR was upload how to use your jewellery leaflet and that was it.
Strangely still getting sales from Germany even though they have been blocked. Also I blocked NI but sales are still coming through. So will have to do some tweaking when I can be bothered.

I’ve seen a seller I follow on eBay , who was a business for the last few years, suddenly change from a business to a private seller and yet still acts as a business.

Was horrendous last night just even getting 1 listing up. Took me at least 15 mins, when normally a few mins to add an item up.
Spinning ball mostly all of the time then crash after crash. Was ok the day before.
My iPhone is 13 PM.
Noticed it only occurred after downloading the new version of the app which it was IOS 18 and continued to crash with spinning ball after that.
My other apps that i downloaded are fine.

Never known the site to be so dead.................very few sales, no calls, no messages, no offers.......answers on a postcard....

The recently added restrictions for private sellers perhaps??
12-02-2025 9:21 AM
... and the way they're randomly being rolled out, of course.
Private sellers venture 'upstairs' to check our new CRAZEE prices and then come back down here to hide away and have a good moan about it.
Now if Ebay started charging a fee for forum use...? 😉

The ebay fail app would be a major part I should think. I'd wonder how many potential buyers that's put off?
Then you have the updates by ebay to the Private sellers / buyers side of things.
Personally as a buyer from Private sellers mostly, I would then be on site & look at Business Sellers items whilst I was here. From 31st January I made a conscious decision not to buy whilst ebay are trying to charge me for the privilege of doing so. Hence another buyer lost to both parties here and a buyer looking elsewhere.
Hopefully it will even out for businesses, if you can afford to stay long term.

Indeed, something is better than nothing.

I have only sold 2 items on my private account since December and not a great deal more on my business account.
I am only a low volume, part-time seller but in prior years would be selling 2 or 3 items a day, it’s now down to 1 or 2 a week, and even that’s not consistent.
Fact is eBay has lost a hell of a lot of traffic. People simply don’t bother searching the site if the product is available elsewhere, particularly Amazon or Temu.
For those that can be bothered to use eBay, they first have to battle with manipulated search that constantly tries to divert them to more profitable sales for eBay.
Or, if they actually can find what they want, they have to wade through page after page of sponsored ads all over the listing in order to read the description or buy it!
The site’s a shadow of its former self. It’s harder to navigate and full of businesses masquerading on private accounts which is upsetting genuine private sellers and small businesses alike.
Add to that the recent introduction of buyer fees and the failure of the app to work on all but the latest phones and it becomes clear that eBay is rapidly losing popularity with both buyers and sellers across the board.

May as well have turned our shop to holiday mode! Completely Dead.

Yep, at what point do people just pack it all in...?

I did a Fair a week ago on Saturday, and another last Sunday, both were very busy and I took more in those two days than I have on eBay in the last month. People are spending, just not on eBay anymore and with some of the stupid changes they have made recently for private and businesses, it is hardly surprising.
They are alienating both Private and Business users now.

Agree. 10 years ago I was working in an office of 40 or so people. Most were using eBay to buy from and plenty were decluttering too, although I was the only one running a small part-time business.
Fast forward to now having met them all for a coffee and I find that nobody in that office uses eBay at all!
They all buy from Amazon or Temu and for younger people (under 35) eBay is definitely not where they seek to buy or sell.
The powers to be should have left it well alone with its uniqueness of auctions plus BIN and a good mix of private and businesses.

Same in my local. 13 years ago it seemed like everyone was buying or selling, often a bit of both. At least three people were running small businesses.
Today no-one mentions ebay, if asked some may say they haven't used it for ages to buy anything, some just look blank. I'm the only person I know that has sold here recently and I only know of one collector of Falklands memorabilia that even searches regularly.

Yep. Rubbish. Appears to be the new payment thing they've introduced. I've been on here since 2006 and I'm holding fire on things. Shame.

If its any consolation our Amazon store is dead as well. So this is a wider problem in my opinion ie. the economy and people scared they are going to lose their jobs come april!
