This is really taking the P...
Apparently now if you send an item 1st or 2nd Class Post, no tracking, eBay will put the funds on hold for 31 days as it can't be shown as being delivered.
They won't release the money even when the buyer has left you Feedback
I sell Medal Wallets, Ten for £2-79 + £1 Postage Second Class.
Minimum Royal Mail Tracked 48 Postage is £2-95, so nobody is going to buy with the postage costing more than the item, yet eBay now won't release the money for 31 days. *bleep* !
This needs to stop asap, I am a business who has been here almost 25 years and now they are doing this !
So basically you can not sell on eBay now unless you send it tracked, so no small ticket items are viable anymore as you'll have to wait 31 days for your payment, even though the buyer has left you feedback and are happy, eBay system is so rubbish it can't work this out.
Anyone else have this problem which has only just started apparently ?

I was told by a member of CS, from Ireland and then a member of management, from Ireland, that this was the "new norm". This was in no way shape or form, held back. It was very very direct and with no ambiguity. Whatever form they dress it up in, "Community Standards" or whatever, we can expect to see this more and more. I would say it has to do with the spike in fraud (both seller and buyer) as it was shown in the global Q3 results as a direct statement, so my thoughts are that ebay global have decided enough is enough and kicked the backsides of ebay UK and ebay UK have decided this is the way forward, whether or not we or anyone else likes it.

It’s not the norm as many sellers including me have been put back on 24 hour payouts

I understand it's not the norm. I am simply saying what I was told repeatedly by members of eBay payments including management, all from Ireland.
No it's not normal as we understand it.
It is however what they are saying now for whatever reason they have decided on this crackdown and whatever those reasons are or the reasoning behind such.
I am not defending ebay, I am merely repeating what I was told multiple times and have personal experience of.

Totally understand but Im trying to give some positivity in the fact its NOT a permanent thing. We had the 30 day hold for 4 months and then released 3 days ago back to 24 hours payouts

I think that the recent change in attitude is down to the results from ebay global where they state that the jump in fraud is down to the UK specifically, especially with simple delivery. I would guess that ebay global have gone nuts at this, and told ebay uk to get their house in order. Personally I have seen a huge rise of people making false INR claims (when tracking shows items as delivered), and people demanding refunds "because they deserve one" - for whatever reason. What usually occurs is these people phone up ebay CS and start shouting and ebay CS give them a no blame refund, and the money comes out of ebay's pockets. That plus the sheer insanity of simple delivery refunds where both buyers and sellers engage in huge fraud ie - for buying a laptop and receiving an empty box or a buyer buys a laptop, returns it and returns an empty box and ebay are out hundreds of pounds each time. We've all seen the posts on the forums.

"Personally I have seen a huge rise of people making false INR claims (when tracking shows items as delivered)"
Thankfully I have had very little of this, but these problems are all down to eBay's flawed Flagship Policy, "Your item or your money back guarantee". Which as I stated earlier is wide open to fraud, eBay were told this countless times yet they still piled on with it and still maintain it today.
This site is a mere shadow of what it once was, and not for the better in any way whatsoever. I've been running it down on here over the last 11 months and have less than half the items I had listed then. It's no viable on here for a business and that slide has been happening for quite some while.

Oh and by the way, I had two emails from eBay this morning regarding my two telephone calls to CS on this, with slaveBay staff saying they investigated my complaint and it has been closed.
Investigated it......yeah right.

If simple delivery is the cause of the fraud spike then ebay should be dealing with it. From the posts I've seen these holds are being placed on businesses who have nothing to do with simple delivery and with no clear explanation as to why.

Exactly. We don’t use simple delivery and had 30 day holds applied to our account for 4 months

This is just more of the contempt ebay show towards their long standing customers, in my case 23 years.
